Just starting to turn Garnet. The tannins were fine grained and well integrated with the wine. The red fruit notes have started to prune and give way to more vegetal tertiary notes like tomato leaf and more developed tobacco notes. Acidity was still bright, could age another 5+.

Garnet color, lighter and almost transparent around the rim. Aromas of ripe and dried fruits such as cherries, blackberry, plum, strawberry. Nice oak and aging notes of tobacco, leather, vanilla, coffee. Acidity is still good, solid length. Great match with mutton fillet.

This 2008 is surprisingly developed, brown and orange in color, on the nose delicious aging aromas, coffee, chocolate, prunes, dark ripe fruit, on the palate complex, leather and mushroom, long balsamic aftertaste of forest floor and licorice. Should be drunk now, further storage is not recommended. Mature 92 p

Bold and round! Amazing complexaty with tertiary notes og tobacco, leather, mushrooms and soil. Still prominant fruit of cherry, plum, cranberry and some blackberry. Soft dusty tannins with vanilla and oak, and good acidaty. Amazing wine, probably at the top now.

Medium dark ruby with brick edges. Medium- intense nose of ripe red cherries, some dark cherries, red currant, cranberries, figs, some mushrooms, tobacco, slight leather. Palate similar. Well developed - probably near its zenith. Fresh acidity, distinct fruit - but going tertiary, rounded tannins. Very smooth. Apparently, this is a special edition of this wine. Paired with a home made lasagna packed with herbs. This Brunello loves Thyme and Oregano. Great match! Medium + body, medium+ acidity and medium- tannins.

Bra lengde.

Rund og smakfull, men bør nok drikkes innen for 1-3 år

In between youth and maturity. Smooth, spicy, dried fruits. Kind of splendid. Drink now + 5

Decanted for about 90 minutes. Muted nose but beautiful notes of cherry and tomato leaves on the palate. Tannins were very fine and acidity remains medium-high. Probably lots of life left in this beautifully made wine.

I had a bottle of this one almost a year ago and enjoyed it. This time around, this one really stood out. We opened it and let it stand in the bottle about an hour. A little bit of bricking around the edges in the glass, nice semi transparent coloring. Really nice nose of roses, berry and maybe a little leather. Very silky in the mouth, more berry and leather and maybe even some smoky notes. Nice smooth long finish. …

This wine needs about 20 minutes in the glass or a solid hour or two in decanter. After that you can't have enough. Opens up beautifully.

Still drinking extremely well, at its peak. Acid is a tick higher than 7 months ago. Without food, the secondary and tertiary flavors are slightly affected making it less cohesive. Drink up.

4.2/5. Nice 12 year old BdM. On the nose notes of cherry earth oak. On the palate cherry mushroom leather cedar with nice smooth well incorporated tannins and medium strong acidity. Went well with lamb chops with shallot mustard sauce. Enjoyed but would not pay the $175 suggested here.

Decanted 2 hrs. Dark red / brown in the glass. Really nice nose of cedar and faint blackberry. On the palate, more cedar and some leather along with blackberry, black cherry in the background. Very firm tannins. A nice, long finish. Drank blind alongside a 2008 Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova. Consensus was both were real enjoyable, the CdN was a little more smooth. Had with pork tenderloin. I think maybe This needs to be drunk within a year or …

Lighter brown red body, not as dark as the Riserva. Nose has salted caramel, tomato skin, cheese rind, orange peel, clean raspberry frambois. Sweet palate with black cherry, raisin, montmorency cherries. Nice, hefty tannins (by no means monolithic or unapproachable, just firm). Back end is a little sharp and dry, slight rosehips. All-in all, a quality wine at a great price $50 USD that is in a peak drinking window and has at least 5 years left before it should …

Dark cherry, cedar, leather, wet moss, and tobacco. Fair amount of bricking. I think this vintage is nearing the end of it's prime drinking window.

Very good, but not quite as good as my last bottle (see note from December 2019). I found that this bottle didn't open up as much as the last and was not as expressive. Still lovely flavors of blackberry, currant and vanilla. Nose is all cigar box. Give this time to open up, at least a few hours in the bottle before drinking. Firmly in its drinking window.

This was excellent. When opened, lots of barnyard on the nose. The wine needed about 2 hours to open up (no decant). Following the two hours, this was singing. Bold flavours, slightly tannic and a perfect blackberry finish. Wow. I would drink this over the next year or maybe 2. 93

Fantastic bin end find at Provence Marinaside. PnP and already has great Tuscan aroma. It continues to open up during 75 mins. The attack starts with acidity follow by red and dark fruits, follow by herbs and leather, soft medium grainy tannin, some alcohol hot. Finish is a good minute long. Quite enjoyable, would have order another but last bottle!

Generally consistent with previous notes, but I'm upgrading the score. I've now had four bottles of the 2008 and each of them has been among the most enjoyable of any I can recall. Perhaps a shade light on cerebral complexity, but there's just no arguing with the sheer joy it delivers. Pricey and well worth it. NB this is now showing a considerable amount of bricking; probably time to drink up.

A very smooth wine after 45-60 minute decant, lots of earth, spice and vegetation that follows the red strawberries and cassis.

Decanted 4 hours before tasting. Already quite a bit of bricking in the glass. Nose of plum, wild strawberry, licorice. Modern and balanced on the palate, round black and spicy red fruit. Tart finish on the short end of medium, well integrated tannins. Juicy, modern style Brunello, right at peak. Drink now with a good decant.

Leather, dried dark fruits, flowers and a touch of wood on the nose. Elegant and beautiful aromas. Some orange, dark, dried cherry and very fine tannins on the palate. Licorice jumps out on the finish. Finish drops off after about 20 seconds.

Tasted in Montalcino at the winery. Wine was unlabeled awaiting export release in August. This wine is not a polished as previous vintages, but has alot of potential, espcially for an average vintage. Needs a couple years to come together. 91+
