Extremely clean and pure with a tiny bit too much stainless steel influence

Certainly one of the few real bargain wines these days. You really would think it costs two or three times what it actually does. Nice balance of fruit and alcohol with a dry but full finish avoiding any sweetness. Yet another very successful vintage methinks.

A little over a year since my last review, and I'm still liking this wine. Stone fruit nice minerality and a hint of oak. Great combination and balance.

One of my favourite and go-to drinking wines. A burnt match nose followed by beautibalanced and clean white stone fruit. Lovely and very moreish.

Super-loved by Decanter who gave it 95 points. I don't want to score it yet, but all the signs are good. Lovely relaxed style. Try again in 6 months. Yum. Very good value

Ginger and white flowers on nose Unripe pineapple, buttered toast, cilantro, lime zest on palate Needs to be served a little warmer to achieve mouthfeel--otherwise thin.

Citrus, refreshing acidity with nice minerality. I think I will wait with my other bottles a little bit.

Chardonnay Tweet up in Elgin (2016) (Elgin) : (Tasted Blind) Mid-yellow-gold with pronounced oak influence matched with plenty of ripe apple, semi-dried Cretian pear and slices of loose stone peach with a lick of butter. Full-bodied, the entry is rich and supple but plays nicely off with a crisp acidity, giving spine to this bright, clear fruited wine. A dusting of baking spices, there is an apple skin texture and a plethora of orchard and stone fruit to its core …

Last bottle - still drinking well showing that well-made SA Chardonnay can age gracefully - lighter in style than many of its neighbours

still drinking wonderfully well - fruity (melon, pineapple with just a hint of marzipan.butterscotch) but very elegant. Also very New World lacking the minerality of say a Burgundy wine but the purity amd lightness of the oak was very impressive

Lovely balance between the light delicate fruit and the hint of oak - a very pleasing SA Chardonnay and perhaps now drinking at its best

A great start to "Operation Drinkup" in relation to SA Chardonnay - yes there was a palate of mature wine but it was stilll fresh fruit with no real hint of maderization/oxidation in either the still pale yellow/green colour or in the remaining balance in the mouth with no over sweet caramel flavours. For me this wine holds great hope that SA Chardonnay can age well - Based on this bottle I would happily keep this wine for another year …

Gold, touch of green. Good acidity. Some lime, some honey, tropical fruit maybe pineapple. Also some nuttiness, maybe almond. Good weight, maybe a little short in the finish after the fullish taste sets up expectations. Very good QPR.

Honeymoon in South Africa; 12/16/2008-12/23/2008 (Londolozi, Cape Town, Constantia, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschoek - South Africa) : Green gold in colour. Nose showed hazelnut and butter layered over malon and apple tones. Quite a bit of glycerin floating around there too. More nuttines on the palate, slightly higher toned though - rarther like roasted almonds or pine nuts - along with white fruit that reminded me of apples and pears. Big and alcoholic on the mid-palate, which was thankfully …
