Well executed, semi-modern Cali Pinot as I see it. Great depth and richness with enough acidity to not be flabby. Plenty of red fruit like cherry, pomegranate, raspberry and strawberry. Some noticeable wood influence. Earthy, especially on the finish. I suspect a few years ago this was even more fruit forward, maybe more than I would usually like, but today this was quite tasty! This well liked by everyone at a friend’s football gathering, especially those who like the richer …

An impressive Pinot in classic Paul Lato style. On the nose it presents some heat but also some earthy components. The palate is altogether different, leading with silky, intense red and dark fruit. This is a flagship wine of Paul’s and a premier vineyard source and this wine delivers all that you would imagine. Rose petals, baking spice, and dark cherry. Impressive in appearance, structure and flavor. Beautiful color.

A combined nose of forest and moss and oak barrels. Cherry and strawberry mixed palate with a long finish. Slight astringency, in a good way. A very refined wine that needs an hour of decanting to strut its stuff.

2019 Los Olivos Trip; 11/14/2019-11/17/2019 : Darker fruit, bitter herb, good acids, tight, focused, great balance. The apotheosis of a Pisoni Syrah. But, of course, it needs time.
