Outstanding Kiwi SB. No detailed notes, just impression. Extremely complete, still fresh and vibrant with an integrated sense. Lots of detail, multi-faceted with lovely texture. Long. Kept me coming back. Color leads the only hint to it being SH 2010. I wish I had more, procured one btl thru auction. I'm also a big fan of GW standard Marlborough SB, and PN.

From 75cl screwcap. This has seen better days. Yes it's a concentrated NZ SB, with evident high quality oak treatment, but it smells and tastes oddly monolithic, closed, flat, heavy, lacking in lift, detail or layering. I can't really believe there is an upside. 88P(?)

Very pale yellow. Nose shows pronounced gooseberry and nettle with nice minerality. Palate similar with nice length and a slight richness and good length. The latter feature (and fact I remember this as better a year ago) makes me think 2 years in the cellar will round this out nicely, to my taste. **1/2 (***1/2).

Ageing very well, and still my favorite NZ sauv blanc. This shows more mineral and less fruit than in the past, but is still a winner. Precise and linear - definitely an atypical NZ sauv blanc. Me - 91, wife - 90.

Didn't have it side by side with the 2011 Te Koko drank one day ago, but the wines were quite different, the Greywacke being greener, with higher acidity and noticeable minerality. Great showing once again and matched perfectly my wife's spinach souffle' with Katiki of Domokos, a creamy, white and intensively tart Greek chese. Also perfect with the roasted chicken with feta cheese that followed. Can age for 2-3 years further, maybe even more.

Starting to evolve just a bit, the acid leveling out and the oak playing a bigger role in the flavor profile, perhaps because the fruit is just a little less intense or exuberant now. Still plenty of fruit here, but rounder.

Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc Wild Mini Vertical (Oinoscent Wine Bar, Athens, Greece) : The least expressive of the 3 vintages and the one with more varietal typicity. Lime, greenness and wet stones on the nose. Med+ with good balance and length but needs a couple of years in the cellar to overcome a dormant phase.

Tasted immediately after opening. Pale straw colour. No mistaking this for anything else than Sauvignon Blanc – blackcurrants, nettle leafs, butterscotch and floral perfume on the nose and palate. Powerful and concentrated, with racy acidity and fine length. Although drinking this wine reminds me that SB is not my favourite varietal, there’s no denying that the quality on display here is superior to pretty much everything I’ve had before – both old world and new.

Pale yellow/green color. Exotic nose of melon, citrus (grapefruit), even some cut grass - and this is after sitting open over night! Melon and citrus carry through to palate. Crisp acidity but a creamy finish. Something going on here that is not very NZ-like, but it is very good. Better value in the "Regular" bottling (as opposed to the "Wild") that hits the same notes at 2/3 the price.

The use of wild yeast and light touch of oak gives this wine a bit more body and depth than what one would typically be used to from a Marlborough SB, it's certainly built to age. A pale yellow-green wine with a nice silky texture. Bouquet with Elderflower treacle, grass, guave, mint, minerals. On the palate this wine shows his amazing fresh- and clearness. Notes of Blackberries, a bit of lime and green apple. Super smooth and soft finish. Lovely one.
