Just excellent! Decanted for an hour before serving. Subdued red fruits on the nose carried over to the palate. Wonderful richness, with a little smokiness and earthiness to make it more complex. Medium finish with a hint of acidity to carry it along. Well balance, old-world style. Great QPR for this "entry-level" Chasseur.

Powerful nose of strong red fruit. Starts off more medium bodied and pure, but after an hour open, the wine matchs the nose; fruit-forward, CA style pinot noir. Lots of red raspberry upfront, backed with strawberry, wild berry and red cherry. Adds in some very nice mineral and earthy notes on the finish along with fine grained, integrated tannins. It has just enough structure to balance the fruit. If you enjoy this style, I'd drink it in the next year …

Have consumed well over a case of this wine over the last two years. Every bottle has been consistent. One of my go-to wines when I'm trying to introduce people to quality California Pinot Noir that doesn't break the bank. Excellent producer whose wines are consistent year in and year out.

I think this wine needs more age to shine. My cork actually had a pinhole in it and when I took the capsule off I worried that the wine would be vinegar. The wine, however, was pristine and fab. Lots of sour cherries and almost a hint of that French barnyard funk, but in a new world CA power kind of way. Good stuff. Would buy more if I found it.

Welcome to flavor... My goodness the fruit just jumps out of the glass here, but it's nicely balanced by typical CA Pinot herbaceousness and a little bit of orange oil. This is fantastic now but I bet the rough edges will soften with time. Filthy value here at $28. Filthy.

Tons of ripe fruit on the nose with an almost bubble gum essence. Bright ripe cherry bomb, silky mouthfeel, fairly dense but lacking a bit of acidity. A touch hot as well on the finish. Not the greatest wine to pair with food but probably a great sipper.

Agree with previous notes. Medium body, spice and red fruits on the nose. Clean cherry, red, pure fruits across the palate with a little oak peeking through. Delicious, fruit forward RR pinot from a great producer. For the price you wont find better if you enjoy a new world RR style.

Wow! Fantastic wine for the price point. I do not see pinots this good until you get the $50 range. At half that price, I wish I'd bought a case. Rustic, funky nose with spice and cherry, a little dank. Then you taste, and a wave of cherry pie flavors hit you, like it was cooling on a window sill. Allspice, clove and sweet tannins counter the mountains of cherry. Good acidity keeps things lively. Perhaps a little more variance …
