Young-ish, modern-ish Cornas and friends (The Laundry) : Earthy nose. More civility? A kind of raspberry ripple vibe - but also a sparky sourness. This showed really well - most engaging of the flight maybe?

This drank great. Classic Cornas notes. Very enjoyable with a cheese burger.

I'm scratching my head on this one - I'm definitely not getting the enjoyment out of it that others did; Agree with the general meaty quality but immediately after that I get a hit of buttered popcorn, which always turns me off; Overall profile is medium dense and slightly chewy; While it has good acid, it comes across as somewhat flat; I have two more bottles that will allow me to check whether this was an off bottle but right …

little over a year after the last bottle. Evolving nicely. still retaining incredible freshness. More olive note on the nose than in the past with some hints of roasted meats and black pepper. On the palate a explosion of tiny black berries & transition into briny black olives. Lots of stoniness and spice

Decanted wine for about two hours. Bribe and sweet cherries on the nose with maybe even a floral note. Olives followed by raspberries and pepper on the palate. An interesting wine from a producer I did not know.

Really nice stuff. Didn't give it much air at all and it still showed great. Nice light smokiness on the palate. Weightless.

Sunfish Cellars Grand Tasting (Just $10) (Sunfish Cellars/I Nonni Minneapolis, MN) : One of my favorite wines today. Olives, pepper, stone and red currants. Vibrant wine and good acidity. Medium plus and complex wine. Should age for another decade.

Nose of black fruits, leather, tobacco, cassis. On the palate black and blue fruits (savory) with pepper and olive. Super fresh wine. Great to drink now but has the goods to go 10+ years. A very majestic Cornas.

From what I have read, Bourg has a very small parcel in Cornas and only makes a couple of barrels per year. The wine is whole cluster and raised in used oak. This is a very nice wine, very '16 in that it is fresh and juicy and delivering a lot of pleasure right out of the gate. The fruit complexion here is medium-dark and it is tinged what characteristic savoriness and a thin trailing scrim of coarse Cornas tannins. …

P&p. Smells great - peppery/spicy, herbaceous, floral, gamy and savory, with terrific general pungency, intensity and depth. Pure, "crystalline" fruit. Sappy, saline, stony, packed with typicity and terroir while staying fairly light in weight and very easy to drink. Good acidity. Tannins have some noticeable grip but are ready to go. Nice!

From the wine list at Frenchette (NYC). A daunting wine list for those who don't follow the natural wine movement - but with some help from the some we settled on this bottle of Cornas from a producer I was not aware of. For young Cornas this was quite approachable and very bright. It was decanted and poured. The nose was fragrant with dark berries and brine. On the palate this was all about the dark bright fruit, minerals and …
