Level still into neck. Not decanted. Like the previous noted bottle in January 2023, this was also a deep garnet, only fading at the rim. Deep garnet with obvious fade at fringe, but no ruby or bricking in this bottle. Impressive. Noses similarly to the previous bottle just over a year ago, but more youthful and with a bit more oak. The palate confirms this is a less developed bottle, with grainier tannins and a greater volume of fruit. Length and sweetness are better too. Better than the last bottle and fine. It's been little over a year since my last note. Level into neck. The wine still possesses a substantial dark ruby core, with mid-ruby flanks fading to brick-red. Nice and delicately fruited Margaux nose with floral elements mixing with lighter-red berries. The oak is a little, little more obvious than previously, but it's been handled well. Medium body. More than eight years have passed since my last note. Level into neck. Tightly-fitted cork was very hard to remove, despite the bottle laying on it's side in it's original wooden case since purchased en-primeur. Nice to see that this still has a dark core, graduating to ruby, turning brick-red at the very periphery. Even before being decanted, I could detect strawberry and raspberry scents from the neck. Full red rim, black red centre. Not much nose, body is thinning, but a great autumnal mellowness. Hints of decay, but also classic mineralogy. Bread and cheddar bring out the autumnal flavours. Two hours in, the nose begins to emerge. Lovely, but better within it’s drinking window.

Dark ruby and viscous appearance. Mature and harmonious aromas of leather, barnyard and mushrooms. Chevy, velvety and mouth filling start, then a tannic attack. Perfectly mature, but some evident tannins and a dark color that suggests further life.

Colour is still a medium to dark ruby, with no bricking at fringe. An oaky nose to begin with, just like all previous bottles I've had since my first one, back in 2006. But this is the first time that the oak has subsided to allow dark berry and dried flowers onto the front stage.The tannins have been resolved to a large extent, too, and the wine now has a lovely soft and delicate texture. In my view a success for the chateau, excellent depth of colour with a slightly chocolaty nose from the new oak. The palate has lovely balance with a good weight of fruit and soft supple tannins. This is extremely well judged, not overworked or over extracted, delicious current drinking. Benefitted from 3 hours in a decanter.

still good, but not as enjoyable as the 1995 I tasted a couple of months ago. I shall soon be drinking the other '99 I have in the cellar, before eventually moving on to my case of 2006s ... The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Red Currant, Raspberry, Blackberry, and Violet. It tastes like and Red Currant. The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Round texture. The wine finishes Medium.

Ullaged to mid neck. Small heavy sediment. Hint of brown. Nose restrained. Decanted 3 hrs. Very tannic at first but good fruit came to the fore and was even more in evidence drinking what was left the next day. Not as good as the 83, 85 or 86 but a lovely wine.

clear ruby colour, great nose with intense floral aroma, mature blackcurrant, a little bit oak, nearly unnoticeable tannin and acidity, however the palate is hollow and the aftertaste is a bit short. As a daily drink is acceptable, drink it now.
