Red fruited with some herbal complexity. Perfectly accessible at this point and easy to drink.

Clearly some bottle variation at this point. Nowhere as good as my prior bottle. After a 1 hour decant it was just OK and then downhill. Even worse the next day. - - it happens.

Somewhat closed and med/med+ tannins on pop and pour. Gave it around 1.5 hours of good airing and it came around. Elegant med- nose of roses, wild flowers, dried strawberries, cherries. Minerally and tarry notes. In the mouth these follow through with medium tannin and good acid fruit balance. Medium- intensity long delightful finish.

Coravin. Light ruby with mild bricking; aromatic, red fruited, dusty spice, floral, orange peel; palate is light bodied, medium-high tannins, medium-high acidity, red fruited, a bit of fade through the midpalate; finish is medium length. Similar to past bottles though not quite as far along as my bottle 2 months ago, drinking well now especially with food but a bit limited by its length. 90 2 hours air: this really has a good amount of complexity, including some cherry cola, …

Coravin. Light ruby with medium bricking characteristic of Nebbiolo; aromatic with red fruits, some soy and balsamic, slight floral, some cinnamon; palate is light bodied, plenty of savory and umami notes including soy, more limited fruits, medium-high acidity, simpler red fruits which fade through the midpalate; finish is medium to medium-minus length. I think this has developed more maturity notes over just 2 years since my last bottle, though certain detractors such as the simplicity of the fruit and the …

Continues to perform. Elegance and class from northern Piedmont.

Elegant Nebbiolo. Lovely aromas of raspberry, sandalwood with subtle floral quality. Fresh acidity, wild and dried strawberries, medium weight, finely textured mid-palate. Refined finish, driven by pure red fruit and firm but accessible tannins. While this should age, there is already a bit of bricking and nice integration, definitely ready for business.

Consumed over two nights. Better on day two. Lost a point or two for some over-warm notes. Mid body, mid+ acid, 13%

A soft pleasant wine perhaps a bit thin on the mid palate with bright red fruit notes and drying tannins... A very good nebbiolo...bright light acidity....

Decanted 45 minutes, seems like it would have benefited from longer as remained a bit closed until midway through bottle. Black cherry, lightly aged plum, hints of earth, cocoa, coffee on palate. Subdued earth/black cherry nose. Nuanced elements grew during meal. Light tannic edge, crisp well tuned acidity, balanced with earthy dark fruit. Perfect & classic combo with bolognese & pasta. Good qpr, love these northern nebbiolos.

Coravin 12/28/18: Light ruby with slight bricking characteristic of Nebbiolo; high intensity aromatics, red fruit, roses, slight herbal, slight spice like cinnamon, lots of complexity for such a young wine; palate is light bodied, high tannin, fresh taut acidity throughout, simpler red fruits; medium length finish. The nose on this is stellar (probably due to blending with varietals other than Nebbiolo), the palate less so but shows potential for development with age. A nice find! 91

This was a really interesting wine, the taut acidity in this provides such freshness for a red wine, but still achieves a nice balance with the fruit and dusty tannins. Red fruits, floral and earthy and juicy fresh. This one wants to be consumed with some food - paired with a burger.

Alto Piemonte at Flatiron (Flatiron, SF) : $38 Medium minus ruby to a red rim. Nose reminds me of a dirtier Paolo Bea Sagrantino: Distinct black liquorice and anise, black cherry, sweet developed baked cherry, slight Brett, slight barnyard. Great integration. In the mouth: - Medium plus body - High alcohol (feels 14.5%) - High acid! - High tannins - delightfully chewy

Very aromatic, easy, coffee and dead leaves nose with some bitter red fruits. Tangy and structured on the palate. Not much length. Have seen some bottle variation. Well-priced, though.
