Walter Scott Pinot Noir Koosah Vineyard

Very nice RRV Pinot. It is a hearty Pinot that is very smooth and enjoyable.

#1 in a 6- Pinot tasting 10-25-24. Long and Complex w/red fruit aromas and on the palette. A light touch with oak. Very well balanced. Sadly, the market has dried up and this was my last.

Nice nose, cherry up front. Need to open up. Wait a few years before the bottle.

Medium plus dark Ruby color. Nose is sandalwood cherry raspberry and spices. Palate is red fruit berry mint raspberry,fresh acidity and savory. Oak vanilla spice earthy mushroom smoke. Finish is crisp and bright.

Would buy again. In a Savino flask over three days and continued to develop depth and complexity. Very nice. Another Wine Advocate superb over-rating by six points.

We tasted this from barrel last summer, and this is the first bottle we opened from this vineyard. A bit reductive, with a bit of funk and gunpowder out of the gate. An absolutely wonderful wine with a lot of fruit and non-fruit characteristics. This is my favorite of the bottles we've opened. Well done!

Brighter in color and character than the Sojeau. Better balance. More aligned with my preferred style, but like the Sojeau, I'm not sure I'd buy more at this pricepoint.

Tasted from the tasting kit they had for the 2021 vintage tasting event last Saturday. The nose has vibrant red fruit. On the palate, tart red fruit; somewhat clenched. Likable, and it certainly has potential, but for me, hard to judge at this very early stage.

Walter Scott 2021 Vintage Zoom Tasting : Enveloping aroma with a pronounced blueberry scent. We both really enjoyed this wine. This was more fruit-forward than the other WS pinots in the tasting, though it still remained soft and nuanced. Lots of blueberry and fresh cherry flavors. Medium acid and an extremely long finish. Will definitely seek some more out.

(Walter Scott 2021 Release Tasting). Slightly soft and not revealing much on the nose initially, as it opened up, showed red cherry as well as light floral qualities. Closer to medium bodies than the Freedom Hill, showing noticeably more expressive red cherry notes upfront with some pleasant bright red cherry notes for initial contrast.
