past peak - but drinkable. decant to avoid sediment but don't let it sit for hours on end, it is at the end of its joyful-window

Es kann nicht jeden Tag Ornellaia geben...dieser Toskaner ist wirklich ein guter Wein mit gutem PLV

Decanted for 2 hours. First bottle out of a closed case - provenance very good for the wine. It was outstanding - showing no signs of age. Body and structure, along with deep ruby color, were very good. Wine was perfumy to the nose. Can't wait to drink the remaining 5 bottles. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle.

Tenuta Argentiera visit (Tenuta Argentiera, Bolgheri) : dark red-purple; intense dark fruity aromas & flavours, full bodied, young firm tannins, high acidity, med length finish, good ageing potential

Pnp w/ 45 min decant. Clear w/some very minor sediments. Med dark ruby red color. Decent/thin nose. Wine drank fine but nothing special. Everyday drinker, light finish, good window, nothing off. $30

I probably paid to much for this at $30 but it was still a fine Tuscan food wine. Medium body and finish, strong acidity. Earthy, cherry-stewed prune, meaty tones. Medium-long finish. Not ponderous but mellow.

In the glass this was a deep plum/violet at the core with a slight bit of sediment in the glass after decanting. Scents of lead pencil, leather, dark fruits, and a faint hint of violets on the nose. In the mouth the tannins are soft and well integrated with just enough acidity and a nice core of red and dark fruits that linger in the short-medium finish. This is VERY easy to drink and enjoy and might be a nice …

Overall good wine, not impressed with initial aromas, medium to long finish, soft tannins....Would have benifited from decanting and a few more years in the cellar.

Popped and poured, but this wine would probably have been even better had it been decanted for an hour or two. Beautiful garnet color in the glass with a lovely nose of flowers, dried cherries, and scorched earth. Well balanced on the palate with wonderfully gripping tannins on the finish.

Rich Super Tuscan, superb with food. I'll hold my other bottle for a few years.

Tasted at Ristorante Boeucc in Milano with Trautmann & Schoenwaelder of Clariant and Piazza. Fantastic wine tasted with Ossobucco and Filettino Vitello con Parmigiano e Asparagi.

Not a lot going on here, but friendly and nice. Ill save the last 2 bottles i have for 1 or 2 years, as tannins suggest.
