This is pricey at sixteen bones, but it also is that rare rose than has real depth (syrah, I'm guessing) and can go with any number of foods. It also has benefitted from some aging. Drinking well now, and no need to wait, but no immediate rush.

Not a Provencal rose, in every sense of the word, but it's a wonderful change of pace if that's what you're accustomed to drinking, and it's better than most of those. This has a wonderful new world fruitiness, yet there's also a surprising acidic bite and backbone to it. Excellent structure and balance. Pricey at $16, at least to me, but it's a cut above most roses out there. Some sort of syrah blend. No cinsault, certainly -- doesn't have …
