Should have spent more time with this wine, had it in Le Pavillon, amazing concentration and succulence for a Littoral, however this was not overdone but more a concentration with savoury and mineral notes, tons of pine needles , black fruit, crushed florals, orange peel and spice. The palate was layered and concentrated , very structured and firm tannins, the mid-palate was incredibly layered with depth and perfection, long long long.

Dark cherry nearly candied, brute force with structure. Chewy more dense and chewy. Bit closed today.

The note below describes it well. We will add: This wine has drive and balance. Savory dark cherry. Suggestions of white ground pepper. Lovely sense of salinity. We found this to be friendly, not excessively tannic, and quite nice right now, although obviously it has a long way to go. Very enjoyable over two nights at Café Beaujolais, Mendocino Village.

On the nose raspberry, strawberry, blackberry jam, cherry jolly rancher. Palate with cough syrup, salami, pine tar, sour Cherry, cranberry, some reductive notes, little vanilla, plum sauce. Acid is sharp and potent, tannins have a nice grip, finish is quite long and continues to develop after a sip. This is good now but had some integration in bottle to accomplish before I wager it is really singing. 5 years until next bottle gets opened.

Pale ruby colour. Light intensity aroma of sour cherry, cranberry. Dry. High acidity, low tannin. Medium intensity flavor of sour cherry. Long finish. Sour cherry juice or cherry popsicle.

Tight. Sour cherry. Needs a lot of time. Started to show after 1 hour decant

A lovely mature bottle. Bright, sweet black cherries, spice and twigs and earth, nicely savory, good midpalate density, silky tannins, good length. Perhaps just drying out just a hint at the back. A success.

Past its prime, unfortunately. Hints of its glorious past.

Brick in color, opens with funky odors that blow off after about a 1-hour decant. Fruit emerges at about an hour and a half, and when fully oxygenated, shows all the classic cues of an aged Burgundy. Sadly, about 3 years past its prime, but still delicious, powerful and interesting. Drink up!

Decided to open this at the 35th Anniversary Double Duck dinner in Oakland. Cork was a bit problematic, but the wine was just lovely. Initially a bit reticient on the nose with a spicy, forest floor element; on the palate this was like velvet; not a hard edge anywhere and a very long and deep finish. This didn't fade significantly until the end of the bottle and was one of the top 5 California pinot noirs I've ever tasted in …
