Matassa Coume de l'olla

Some basil on the nose, a little soapy. A bit too natty for me on the palate by itself but I imagine it’d go quite well with food that’s hard to pair with wine.

Matassa Tasting (Ruby Wine, San Francisco) : Citrus florals, white gooseberries, tons of lift, like a surprising amount of lift and brightness on the nose. A tease of a vanilla milk shake as well, that was nice. Palate gave away orange peel and limes, and edible lime flesh (as if it weren't overly sour and tart, but somehow ripe with bearable tartness). Great freshness and lift. Clean sparkly minerals.
