Alfaro Family Pinot Noir Mary Catherine Vineyard

Very purple! Lighter on the nose and palate than it looked pouring into the glass. Slightly menthol-ish palate and nose with lots of bright red fruit and some spices on the finish. Medium body all the way, and a relatively long finish. There's also something floral - violets? - that I'm rather enjoying here. I think this is my favourite of the three pack of these wines.

Raspberries, cherries and mildly toasted oak. Medium body with firm, smooth tannins. 777 Clone; sees 15% new oak. Pretty.

Dark purple in color, with black raspberry, plum and mulberry on the nose. The palate shows black raspberries, framboise, sweet herbs, and anise, in a smooth, brooding texture. Would make a good ringer at a syrah tasting.

Dark fruit and depth, good acid keeps it all together. Young and very nice.

Pepper nose. Darkly colored and black fruited. Low tannins and fair amount of acid gives it length.

Very attractive nose. Palate is intense fruit. Juicy blackberry, raspberry, plum and an intense grape. Long finish drawing the complex dark fruits with a touch of earth. Medium-low tannins. Good wine, but for the price, it was disappointing.

Young but very approachable. Light red berries. Good but there are better, more sophisticated pinots for the money. I probably wouldn't buy again (or would buy the Babcock PN or even better the Chard instead).

Super dark purple, syrah looking actually. Raspberry aroma. Fruit flavor is raspberry and tea followed by a dark cherry note. Very soft tannins, quite approachable at this point. Medium plus length, nice.
