Stanger Vineyards Westside Bench Cuvee

The original fruit has gone, and it needed a lot of airtime but the wait was well worthwhile. I'll probably hold on for a couple of years before I drink the remainder.

Deep dark center, red rim which is surprisingly youthful. Sweet, spirity and a little porty, black cherries and blueberries. Smooth and rich mouthfeel, good acidity and some tannins, black raspberries and bitter chocolate, noticeable alcohol, great finish. A surprise, more youthful than expected, reminds me of an Amarone - high fruit, some bitterness, and alcohol.

Syrah and Tempranillo sorta overwhelm the Cabernet

Fantastic blend of Cab, Syrah, and a little tempernillo. Cab flavors dominate up front and the syrah takes over mid pallette into a spicy finish. This blend really works. As with everything I cellar and end up loving, I wish I had more.
