Similar to the bottle last June, but this one is, alas, a bit over the hill. Quite brown on initial pour, and remains the color of an old madeira. The nose is a slightly corky but it is drinkable as it clears somewhat with airtime. In the mouth, gobs of minerals, tangy orangey acid, and chalky finish. Some dried prunes and tootsie roll at the end. A nice wine that should have been drunk up earlier. :(

Having enjoyed their barberas for over 20 years, this is the first Roero I think I have had from this house. This is excellent and has an almost alto piemonte or valtellina austerity and minerality to it. Brambly dark cherry and licorice. It is showing it age with quite a lot of bricking and is a bit dried out at this point (this would have been better 5 years ago) but still holding its own and quite lovely. Drink up.

Light boddied, clear red Nebbiolo. Super easy to drink. Enjoyed with SMC at Perbaccco.
