Holiday tasting (EBCC) : Walk around tasting. Black fruit and chocolate with blue fruit overtones. Herb and spice elements in the finish. Firm tannin. (J&L)

Decanted, It was ok, it seem to get slightly unwound after a few hours. Not bad for a week night drinker. Drink now.

Malbec with a little pick-up from cab franc. Interesting and absolutely well executed. New world without just being a show of force which I was wary of after reading the bottle.

Susane Balbo wine tasting (Oinoscent) : The wine is very tight in the nose, reductive, showing pure black fruit, smoke, thin oak frame, blue fruit, a few earthy and chocolate notes. In the palate, the wine shows pure fresh fruit, tight tannins, mineral, medium acidity, inky long finish

Terrific mostly Malbec blend from Susana Balbo. Sorry this is my last bottle! Lots of flavor from the blend, smooth and satisfying wine experience.

Purple red rim. Black centre. Powerful, not fully blended yet. Very enjoyable. No sediment. Raw alcohol on the nose. Full, brambly, juicy fruit flavour. Good for any food. Tannin there but we’ll below the fruit. Good five years in it. Classic Argentinian Malbec.

Drank the last one. Nothing special, but it was fine and a decent below-20$ wine to drink. It could have surely been kept for another year or two.

South American “Bordeaux Blend” with Malbec substituted for Cab Sav. Nice complexity of palate with blackberry and a hint of peppery spice. Absolutely going to buy this one again

Second day (I just re-corked the bottle yesterday), and it tastes much nicer now! More nuance, more peppery spices, and even some length. Quite enjoyable now, and with this taste, a good QPR.

I like Malbec in general, but this one does not impress me. Decent smell and first taste, but it does not last. Overall too close to the typical wine poured at some open reception: drinkable, yes, but you don’t yearn for opening another bottle.

WOW!!! Confiture aux fruits noirs, épices, calcaire, caoutchouc...quel nez intense ! En bouche : bel extraction de fruits rouges...noyau de cerise même. Tannins sont fins...un vin rond et riche...très concentré. Délicieux ! Prêt à boire.

with 17% Cab Franc. Medium nose shows dried violets, graphite, dried herbs, black plum, light pepper. Palate more expressive in the fruit, blackberry, a little jammy in a good way, hint of sorghum, black plum, sweet spice, baking spice. Pretty solid structure with medium plus tannins and alcohol. Drinking a little young but fun wine and worth your time.

Nose of cranberry, blueberry, vanilla, sandalwood and dried leaves. Flavors of blackberry, bay leaves, cranberry and ginger. The fore palate is sweet and inviting, but the mid palate is tart and red, heavy on the cranberry and the finish is a little spicy and hot (14.5% alcohol). Despite being in its 5th year it still comes across as disjointed, hopefully more cellar time will help. With air this integrated nicely. Still, more red fruit dominant, I prefer my Malbec black …

The Benmarco Expresivo is an intriguing wine made by Dominio Del Plata. Their goal is to make one of the finest Malbec blends that is built on a well structured foundation of bright acidity and firm tannin that historically has improved by trying different percentage blends of up to 5 different grape varietals. The 2015 at 83% has one of the highest amounts of Malbec and a rarely found blend of just Cabernet Franc for the remaining 17%. Overall, an …

Ok - first Malbec since I’ve been taking notes - took a good 45 mins to open up - blackberry, rose and chocolate on the finish which is lengthy but abrupt if that makes sense - smooth tannins and highly acidic

Strong matchstick nose, sulfites overdone. Not enough stuffing, energy or excitement. I'm much preferring the trivento amado sur Malbec of the same vintage to this. Hole in the middle before a short finish kicks in. tannins medium. This is weak sauce.

I found this wine at a closeout price of $8.99... Can you believe it??? I immediately brought everything they had on the shelve. This wine has a nice soft fruit forward character, with a sharp pungent flavors due to the acid on the finish. Married with food this wine is just NICE!!

This is an excellent wine, however it still has a few years left for maximum enjoyment. Recommend letting it sit until at least 2015 to dissipate the remaining tannins. It was wonderful, but still a bit tanic on the finish. Patience is a virtue!
