Decanted this one for just shy of 2 hours and into the glass. Med intensity nose of sour cherry, oak, and moss. Initial sips were lacking in any real character. Slight sour cherry and pronounced oak which faded quickly. This never really opened up, but maintained soft flavors of cherry, vanilla and oak. Light bodied, dry, and incredibly smooth. The Primofiore can deliver uniqueness and maintain the quintarelli profile on the same bottle. Bittersweet with its bacon, cherries, smoked and green pepper, and showing a fresh character with a welcome greeness reminding of lemon leaf and tea. Good structure and nicely balanced. Fun wine. 92

Enjoyed it. PnP tonight. Best upon opening, which goes against my last review from 2.5 yrs ago. Bright cherry, tobacco, super dark chocolate. Paired well with everything. A delicious, authentic, red blend from NE Italy. It just tastes like real Italian red wine, nothing fancy, nothing fake.

Nice corvina nose of raisins, spices, red fruit, soy....very good, almost a hint of sweetness, chocolate, dried fruits (cherries, raspberries) darker fruits emerge after about an hour of air. but great mouthfeel and very good balance. long finish. nice wine and a good value for the $

Very nice, although my least favorite Quintarelli yet. This may need 3-4 hours air, like others have suggested, or a few more years. Either way, it's still nice now. Dark berry and chocolate, maybe some coffee bean. Do I just need a little more patience?

This one is at first, careful, shy, and closed. But give her time -- at least three to four hours. She comes around, warms up, and surprises with depth, grace and uniqueness. When she arrives, she is completely beautiful! This is a very special wine indeed.

Man O' War Tasting & Late Night Wine Down; 11/1/2013-11/2/2013 (1855 and Meyer Rd) : 1 hour in the decanter: Sweet herbs and green chilli on the nose. Bearing in mind that this is a light-medium bodied wine, I decided to pour this for everyone as the first wine of the night (before proceeding to the Tua Rita Perlato del Bosco Rosso 2007 & Solaia 1999). Didn't wow me in the beginning, but it opened up beautifully after 2-3 hours of decanting, and I then truly appreciated the beauty of this wine. It became a crowd pleaser thereafter. Somewhat like a Merlot. Medium bodied, light-hearted, easy to drink, sweet red fruits, with a flowery aroma and hints of raisins on the nose. Finish was good. This wine will pair well with food. Good stuff!

A Taste of Quintarelli (Dig Wines, San Francisco) : Medium to light ruby. Somewhat heady aromatics. Middle weight. Strong, ripe, herbal Cabernet Franc tones and brown spice. Cherry liqueur as well. Young and not yet well integrated.

Decanted and poured, this wine gave a very good to excellent showing. The wine begins reserved with red fruits on the bouquet and palate. Initially, it seems somewhat one dimensional and angular. Airing brings out more depth and darker fruits. The medium plus bodied palate develops with airing to show better overall balance and length on the finish.
