Surprised this is drinking so well. Blackberry and cedar nose. Rich, but not over the top mouth. Ample but savory fruit on the long finish. Perfect with steak in place of a steak. Great QPR as a mid-tier Napa replacement on steak night at a fraction of the price.

love it <$20, anchor style wine. pop the cork to cayenne, black pepper and herbs de provence, bright red berries, milk chocolatey, vanilla, hazelnuts, pronounced and delicious. minty menthol. felt tannins. D.O. Apalta in personal favorite Colchagua Valley. Will share. Can probably age. Long finish. Carmenere, CabSav, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc. Blueberries, cedar box ~1 hour

Watery blood red, definitely has some age but not too brick-brown, not washed out on the edges, a nice garnet color. Strawberry (ripe, dried) and plum maybe a little red currant and some herbs and pleasant earthy funk. Still some fruit, acidity, and fine tannins. Glad this isn’t over the hill, but it won’t last much longer. Cork was crumbly but did its job. Served with chicken, red pepper, and onion “arroz con cosas.” As it evolved in the glass, …

Very smooth, concentrated and yummy. Couldn't really find anything wrong with it. Justin's friend Kyle brought for the wedding weekend. Also had the Privada which was maybe a tad dryer but very close. Need to find more.

Tannins have integrated so it is drinking well now. It is, however, too sweet and fruity for my palate due to the Carmenere

Retail $20, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Carménère, 25% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc. A real kitchen sink blend of Bordeaux varieties from Apalta in the Colchagua Valley in Chile. Deep ruby/purple color with aromas of cassis, black raspberry, plum, earth, and some slight vegetal notes (green pepper, mint). The palate is quite fruity and rich with more than ample acidity, spice, and just a touch of heat (14$ ABV). For twenty bucks? Yeah, I can play that game. …

PNP. Herbaceous nose, with chocolate and black cherry. On the palate, fruit forward blackberry, plum, oak but surprisingly complex and layered with an earthy pepper. 40% Cab, 25% Merlot, 24% Carmenere, 8% Petite Verdot, 3% Cab Franc. 14% ABV. Bordeaux with a Chilean twist. Nice value.

This wine turns magical after a few hours of decanting. Right out of the bottle is a solid winner, but with a little patience, you will be highly rewarded. It has the perfect balance of fruit and mineral with tannins that are not sharp at all. It has to be one of the best values I’ve seen in a while. This wine will get better with age. How much patience do you have?

I bought a bottle of this at Costco because the price was low, about $10, and this vintage was rated high by Wine Spectator. HOWEVER, the label on my bottle is different than the one shown (mine has a large gold "P" instead of the circular logo, and at the bottom it has "APALTA COLCHAGUA - CHILE. This causes me to think that there are several bottllings around this wine and the one sold by Costco might be different form …

Decent everyday bottle of wine. Dark purple in color. Medium bodied. Notes of dark berries, tobacco, wood. Medium+ acidity creates interest in the palate. Medium finish. Enough tannins to give the wine some structure. All the elements could have been better integrated. The wine does have some small angular edges that gnaw at the palate and keeps it from being a more enjoyable or even a memorable wine. Can be a decent everyday wine, but there are many others in …

Very pleased by this as it had more complexity than I'd guessed it would for the price point and production volume. Black raspberries, a little cocoa, perhaps some mint and a reasonably long finish. Certainly a QPR overachiever in this book. Not sure the claimed 14% ABV is on the level, definitely seemed higher than that but without being overly hot.

Medium purple color. The nose shows loads of saucy black cherries, black cherries, along with a burst of black pepper, roasted red pepper, green olives, charcoal pit, along with coffee and vanilla notes. Medium/full-bodied with medium, velvety tannins, with moderating acidity, and everything is quite nicely balanced. Juicy yet tangy cassis and blackberry with a complex mix of anise, pepper, black olive, charcoal, and an underlying sense of rocky minerals. Accessible now but has the depth and concentration to improve …

Has really opened up in intensity and flavor over the past two years. What started out as a soft Chilean melange Bordeaux blend has shattered like a mirror into better lights of fleshy currant, blackberry, red plum, and a swirl of rich alcohol on the finish. Has ripened with aging with a touch of cassis and eucalyptus and French Oak on the the finish in a medium - full bodied profile. I like the richness and fruit of this wine....although …

Carmenere/Cabernet/Syrah/Petit Verdot. Nose shows fresh black fruit and pepper, some sour earth, licorice. Palate is quite expressive, immediate fruit layers, juicy blackberry, spice, blueberry, earthen tones, kind of a crowd pleasing style with it's up front wow. Medium plus alcohol finishes a little hot, acidity medium. Fun wine, and nice QPR.

Pop and drink. Deep ruby color with light purple rim. A little bit shy on the nose, barely smell any fresh fruits, smokey, new terra cotta, mineral, loads of oak. On palate it's dry, medium to full body, extract black fruits, licorice, bitter dark chocolate, toasted oak, smokey. To me it's over oaked, not easy drinking. Strong bitter tannin and medium plus finish with smokey wood, some red fruits. Very concentrate, need foods.

ripe aromatic nose? Almost opaque color. Some tropical fruit, cloves and cola. Another balanced new world wine that has a cola/root beer nuance. I've encountered this nuance in Italy, Cali, Australia and now chile. This characteristic transcends site and varietal. Mid palate was weak.

Spectacular value sub $20/bottle. Not sure this will age well but it is drinking very well right now. Dense nose of ripe fruit that is dominated by plumbs and cherries with a sage and dark roast coffee bean finish. Tough to pick out the varietals but, as the name suggests, it tastes like a pretty aggressive blend of many. Palate is consistent is the nose, the texture is round with modest acidity and licorice finish. 5+12+16+8=91

Medium-deep ruby in color. Very ripe and refined on the nose, with luxurious, plump, slightly stewed fruit aromas of black currant, plum, mulberry, and blueberry, as well as generous, smoky-spicy oak notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and pipe smoke. Identifiably a Bordeaux blend, but clearly in a modern, New-World style. Comes across as much more expensive than it is on the nose. Much the same on the palate, with impressive concentration and intensity of fruit married to a pleasant …
