Terrific nose, both perfumy and spicy with polished black cherry fruit. Yourhful, dark, and primary, but aromatically flashy. Great power and energy. Although this is yourhful and maybe a little tight, this is already texturally silky. Last bottle of a long night so memory fading, but this was absolutely flavour country. 92 - 93. The ‘01 Morey St. Denis 1er last week was a banger as well. Have to find and buy some of these.

Lovely nose, great fruit; palate is a bit flat, tight, maybe still closed and young? 89 today

Having see Paul tasted this wine, I could no longer resist it. I have to give this one a try. Decanted for an hour, the colour appeared so dark that it's does not looked age at all. The nose is lovely, cherry, flower and as the night went by, it developed this steel, mineral character with the red fuits and flowers more prominent with nice elegance palate of cherries, red fruits with hint of silky tannins, finished is moderate but …

Dinner with the monthly group at Restaurant le Nicolas (Nicolas Restaurant, Keong Saik Street, Singapore) : I just absolutely love this wine – almost sad to see my last bottle go. At least it was wonderfully paired with a beautifully done pigeon dish followed by hen’s egg with white truffle – both were absolutely spot-on. It was just about the perfect way for the last of this lot of Chambolle to pass on. The wine was rather darkly ruby coloured …

Dinner at home with the family and a few friends (Amber Park) : Still very young, but this still superb on the night with the makings of a fantastic wine in the not-so-distant future. The colour was just bricking a bit on the rim. This wine just an absolutely gorgeous nose that got all of us going ga-ga. Ever so complex and layered, it had high, perfumed tones of flowers and spice like cloves and cinamon, rich mid-tones full of …

needed an hour or so to open up. deep, dark pinot fruit, some hints of earth, cola and savoriness. lots of structure and chalkiness on the finish. balanced and should be fantastic in another 5-10 years.
