A big, deep nose of graphite, leather, black cherry, roses, and black tea waft from the glass initially, with notes of soy, spice, and red licorice emerging with time. The graphite ended up being particularly prominent. In the mouth it needed a good 2-3 hours to gain weight and depth (although it was expressive and open the entire time), at which point a blend of black and red fruits cascaded over the palate within a soft and lush package, followed …

Excellent Q/P/V! Notes are consistent with TNs from October of 2021 except that it has lost some of the sweetness. The wine is maturing - that's a good thing. Does it have the structure to go out to 2028 as the CT window suggests? Maybe, but I would more likely put the outside of the window at 2026.

2h air. Medium garnet color. Notes of cherry, plum, clay pot, anise, coffee, jalapeno, menthol. Smooth and satiny feel, medium-full bodied. Succulent cherry flavor really pops amidst a profile that's got saline, dust and pepper, with hints of anise and toffee in the lingering finish. Tannins as well resolved at this stage, offering a good amount of structure that really shows the wine off well. A slightly discordant stalky note in the finish is my one complaint.

PnP almost brick in color on opening and I was alarmed. No worries though, as it turned ruby soon enough and was a smooooooth nice drink. Mid-weight and not too complex but hit the spot nicely.

Popped open by my wife thinking it was Substance's low-end CS, so the plan of saving this for a special occasion went out the window! Medium Ruby color. Aromas of dark plum, black currant, eucalyptus and some oaky hints. Deep and seductive, with a satin texture and full-body, succulent dark fruit (especially black currant) and notes of toast, anise and oak.

Ok, so the second bottle was markedly better than the first bottle that I panned in my prior review. Everything was better, especially the mouthfeel and the finish. The first bottle must have been flawed

And that is a strong 91! I have to echo many of the comments already made. This is indeed full bodied and luscious! Yeah, it is a little on the sweet side, but certainly not cloyingly so! It definitely says "Cabernet" when you taste it. Drinking beautifully right now! For the $40 I paid... I wish I had bought 6 bottles!!

Full-bodied, modern black-purple fruit blends with a slightly savory side of green olive and saline, and a hint of a cool climate syrah profile. The nose is aromatic with both floral and savory elements, which I would have mistaken for syrah if served blind. The palate has a richer fruit profile than the nose, but the savoriness grew over time in the glass. Distinctively WA. Great QPR, glad I have more. A couple weeks after the first coravin pour from …

Nose shows black plum, black cherry, cigar box, and eucalyptus. Dry black fruit, then a a quick black cherry burst, followed by a load of dried herbs. Oak barrel finish with dry tacky tannins, currants, mica, and and earthy finale. Drink 2020-2024.

Not impressed, even for the price $30. Maybe it will improve in a day or two. OK update after 2 more days. Wine did not improve after one day and started to get flabby on day 3. I don’t understand the high scores on this wine. Not impressed with it at all. It’s a $15 wine to me.

New favorite! Paid 50 and high QPR imo. Can’t wait to get more from this producer.

Full bodied and a little sweet. What it lacks in structure it more than makes up for in smooth easy to drink goodness with or without food.

2020: Top Ten Wines; 1/1/2020-12/31/2020 (Redwood City, CA) : Gave 2h air. Deep, dark ruby color. Redolent of blackcurrant, tomato, oak, eucalyptus and lavender. This Cab from Walla Walla, as is often the case from this producer, is an excellent and reasonably-priced offering: Deep, full-bodied and seductive, with a creamy texture, layers of succulent red fruit and toasty notes on the palate, supported by a backbone of polished tannins.

Dusty nose with cherry compotes and notes of strawberry jam. Juicy black cherry and black plum palate with light cinnamon and pumpkin spice notes rolling over long, soft tannins, red fruits, and a sweet cherry acidity. Not particularly Cabernet like but fun to drink.

This is quite good, especially at this price point. Blackcurrants, flinty minerals, toasty coffee beans, and allspice with supple tannins that should hold up for for another few years. I'll wait another year.

Jeb’s drinking window of 2020-2030 is more appropriate than the current CT window. Double decanted, but still pretty tight with sharp tannins. Opens up a bit more in glass, so long decant if you are tackling this in next couple of years. All that said, this is a solid Rocks cab at a crazy low price.

For $30 on close-out, I thought this was quite a good cabernet. Maybe not overly complex, but clearly Cabernet and not over-naked. Would buy again.

Classic nose of cassis, blackberry and pencil shavings. Medium acidity and structure with some plum sauce on the finish. A touch rustic but a lot to recommend.
