This was my last bottle of 6 (five of them were in the range between 91 and 92). This last one was the least good, accompanied well our meal, but not more. Hope that Labégorce 2016 is developing better, 10 bottles remaining...

I really enjoyed that. Sadly it was my last one.

Honestly a bit goopy for the vintage, this is OK with some interesting tobacco tones on the nose but the palate is a bit fat and it could do with more acid. Not a bad wine in the scheme just not as good as I’d hoped.

Copy last note! Maybe a little bit more muted, lacking a bit of the complexity and fruit expression. Very good once again

Having enjoyed the 16, I thought I'd give a 14 a go. Surprisingly, this is a very different beast. Dense chocolate, glossy and modern. Blind I would have mistaken this to be from Australia. Disappointing.

The Labégorce 2014 is now, 9 years after bottling, in it's ideal drinking window, tannins have partially melted but are still present, in a very positive way. Fruit, spicyness and a well dosed acidity are wonderfully balanced for a Margaux CB from a not so highly valued millésime in that appellation and promise a positive future of at least 5-10 years. Those who have some bottles in their cellar can now open a bottle without hesitation. 91(-92)

Not blind. 2nd day sample from a 750. Bricking on the edges. Leafy tobacco and cherry, with a hint of green herbs Very authentic character, medium weight. Early in its maturity but really tasty. A little bit glossy but not in a bad way. This is $20??? Punches up for sure, nice midweek wine!

Early maturity. Black cherry and sandalwood notes. Tannins a bit austere. Perfectly enjoyable mid weight bdx.

Beautiful bouquet of violent, plums, blackcurrant and elderberries. Opens out nicely on the palate after a few hours of air. Good structure and weight but it lacks a bit of complexity and depth compared other vintages.

Opened along with 15 and 16. The most open. Some barnyard along with coarse tannins. Mid weight and complexity. Solid if a bit rustic. Has some aromatic lift to the nose as expected in Margaux. Not a crime to drink now while waiting on '16's to come around

Yesterday, the wine was hardly drinkable. So, I put the wine back in the wine fridge. After a 2 hours decant, it developed really nice today. Not a great, but a fine flowery Margaux from a rather mediocre Margaux year. Actually a touch better than Rauzan-Ségla from the same year. 90-91 points.

Enough perfume, drying tannins, graphite, and licorice to please everyone at the table. At nine years, in a perfect spot for my taste and wallet.

This was stunning. Didn't expect too much but this showed up very fresh, balanced, beautiful structure. No signs of heat or alcohol, very refined. Aromas of tobacco, herbs, pencil shavings and cassis. Not the longest wine but unbelievable Quality/Price-range for less than 30,- in auction

weird, 2+ years ago I said this might be over the hill, yet here it is drinking better than I remember. A little bottle variation? Not over the hill in the slightest, although soft and delicate. From magnum, which I'm sure helped quite a bit

Very happy I brought this to our friends' beach house. Double decanted and served alongside appetizers. Fruity, with secondary development, and smooth tannin. Very enjoyable right now. A nice example of young Margaux from the 2014 vintage.

ABV: 13.5%. Pulled this bottle to see how it's evolving and I must say, it's pretty impressive right now. This nose exhibits leather, graphite, and cigar box, surrounding a core of dark red and black fruits. On the palate, there's a hint of umami as all the profiles come together harmoniously, lifted by ample acidity. The nice finish ends with a little tannic grip. This wine has a lot of potential and the acidity will keep it intact for at …

A very good example of this so-called classic vintage. Deeply coloured with an expansive nose with new oak, licorice and red fruits. Quite weighty on the palate with some cassis, a lot of tannines and acidity and a long aftertaste. Very good QPR. Will improve for several years.

A nice clean, classic medoc. Lovely sheen after decanting. Hint of red to the purple color. . Nose is a touch closed but with intriguing leather, grape, mint, graphite. Has s cool aspect. Well-delinated and with a nice Margaux-sized femininity. Finishes firm and a hair green, but with promise for future excellence. I’ll open next in 3 years. Expect peak 4-7 years if you're not too much of a tertiary fan.

Black currant and blackberries dominate for me. Initially was quite tannic but they softened with a few hours. I find high acidity here - this needs food or it’s a little overwhelming for me. I don’t get much complexity - maybe this needs more time to settle down or maybe I just don’t love it. Tina: enjoyable enough but could use less tart.

Tasted straight from the bottle and decided not to decant. The wine clear, looks Ruby coloured. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. On the nose: Cassis, cedar, smoke, vanilla, slight barnyard, coffee and Oak to finish. On the palate: Sweet red fruits, liqurious (blackjack sweets), fruit salad sweets, Vanilla and slight minerality to finish. The body is medium. The wine has mellow texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium/high acidity. Tannin quite dry …

Nez et bouche médoc classique. Fruité, frais en bouche, style en finesse. Finale avec un élevage plutôt présent, très cèdré. L'aération lui fait du bien. À attendre encore.

From magnum. Had to use some of this for the coq au vin so had a taste. Pretty dark, nicely savoury but still with a nice dark core of black plum and currant fruit. Medium bodied, medium soft tannins, decent finish, not overly long but very tasty on the finish. Tasted again about two hours later. Still very good but probably starting to fade a little. Not quite as vibrant. Clearly a very good wine, but drink up.

As a professional wine writer, just retired after 22 years of published articles, I agree with many of the more recent reviews. Subdued cedar, smoke, leather and wonderfully fragrant; it’s medium bodied, not overblown, nor super ripe as one might assume in 2003. It is a bit tough and bitter on the finish. The slightly harsh and drying aftertaste suggests drinking now. This is a good effort in this extremely hot year.

Dark purple in the glass with a nice nose of fruit and flowers. The wine itself gives blackcurrant, is a bit rustic and has a nice, long and a bit dry tannic finish. Solid Bordeaux, can still gain a bit in time.

Well....A 15 year old minor Margaux commune wine. On nose: tobacco , soft currant fruit and vanilla tinged oak. On palate:not a big wine but well balanced and very pleasant .....integrated fruit and tannins in good balance. As it warms up after a 1 hour decant, some raspberry and mocha show up.....showing well and can go for another 5 years ....drink with roast chicken or mushroom risotto....A fine example of the more affordable Margaux commune wines.

Quel joli vin, à point de beaux fruits noirs bien intégrés à une structure tannique bien évoluée. Une petite touche de moka, cèdre toute en longueur. Que ça vieilli bien des Bordeaux :)

THis is a simply lovely claret in a perfect drinking window (from magnum with 1 hour decant). Gently inviting nose, soft but by no means spineless on the palate. Quite classic in style. Thrilled that I purchased 2. Wonderful with roast beef

Enjoyed from magnum at Thanksgiving Day dinner which included roasted turkey, ham, smoked ribeye roast along with most of the traditional side dishes. Decanted for approximately an hour. Cork was tight and clean without any significant seepage. Medium body, translucent garnet. Somewhat disappointing with aromas and flavors or tart red berries, dried cherries, sour plum, and some green vegetative notes. Palate seemed hollow and slightly thin, tannins were manageable, but lots of tart acid throughout. Light finish. Good but a …
