Fill level about 3 cm below capsule on the clavelin. slightly golden hue but not alarming for a wine approaching a half century. a fair amount of solids , so decanted after settling. Excellent Chateau Chalon character. On palate, lacking a little in intensity and length but the typicity was excellent. I suspect that a better preserved bottle would have shown better. Still very satisfying with Comte and other cheeses.

served very cold; crisp, clean, a bit of complexity; fairly fine acidity and bubbles. balanced
