Great cork "pop", strong effervescence, impressive medium-golden color. Excellent acidity, crisp flaky lemon pastry for days with a slight nuttiness. Nothing honeyed or earthy about this bottle. An incredible showing.

Looks like from 80s or prior. Pretty dead with unpleasant vegetable smell.

Gentle cork POP!, medium+ golden color, subtle bubbly mouthfeel. Wonderfully mature, excellent structure provides great balance between honey and earthy, no sign of forest floor. Really a nice sipper in its old age.

Still great even 5 years past its optimal drinking date.

This 1998 Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Collection Rose is one of the best wines from the Grand Vintage Collection dinner, elegant with great purity. This 1998 is considerably much younger than its age. Elegant array of raspberries, rose petal and bright citrus fruits. Drinking really well. (87/100)

No formal score as this was a very old bottling. From color and cork condition, I'd guess at least 15+ years. Med to dark golden color; still moderately effervescent with nose of nuttiness and bruised apple; full bodied.

No good....past it’s prime.

Note: Of *totally* UNCERTAIN age &, at least to some extent, storage conditions N: Some bread dough with notes of honey, apples, & poss a nuttiness P: Med body; RNDISH entry with SWTISH frt (threshold R.S. almost a certainty, I'd say) still nicely counterbalanced by an acidity that keeps things in check through the LONG, tangy/swt (40:60) finish with an intriguing, very, VERY slight biterness to encourage another sip &/or bite of food. Though likely not what it was supposed …

It wouldn't be fair to rate this champagne since I don't know the age. It was definitely worth the $2.50 I paid for it at an estate sale. It has all the refinements of a good champagne. Lovely toast finish. Perfect for a hot and humid July afternoon. There is nothing like good champagne in the summer. Vive le France!

Surprisingly still drinkable, but past prime for sure. Another year and it would have been gone.

Almost in the cellar too long. Flavors concentrated but I think this wine is meant to be drunk soon after purchase.

Nice fine bubbles. I'd been sitting on it for several years (probably since 2008) due to we don't drink champagne often enough. :) Apples and minerality with a light honey color due to holding it. She stayed her course and delivered as expected.

A really great champagne

Beige gold in the glass. Dried apples and brioche on the nose and rich palate. Thick white mousse. Fine persistent bubbles. Classic Moët.

Oxidized with no sparkle whatsoever.

Had this bottle around for awhile, last of the White Star blend which is no longer available from Moët. Wow, forgot what champagne at this price point could taste like. Straw yellow in the glass, hints of chalk and tropical fruit on the nose, palate comes alive with star fruit, almond, Rainer cherry, balanced minerality and a finish that grips the tongue leaving you wanting your next sip.

A lightly golden yellow with flinty brioche and peach skins on the nose. The wine has an exceptional bead and balance. Integrated brioche and stone fruits are supported by wood spice and nougat .
