Wasn't expecting much since any catchy name wines usually end up being so-so for me. I was surprised at this very Zin wine. Nice fruit, spice, and didn't think it was too hot or in it's past life. And I'm still alive after drinking the entire bottle of Poison!!! ++

Hot on the nose--mostly alcohol and yeast. Not much fruit here. Getting chalky and harsh. I would guess this does not have much time left. Drink up soon, and pair with something big and savory to detract from what little is here. Still drinkable, just not what I remember this being.

This is a great wine for everyday consumption. Very fruity and is still holding up good for a zin with a skew top.

Wasn't expecting a lot but was surprised. Deep garnett color, nice layers, balance, and flaovr. Great nose and legs. Opened to have a quick glass and figured I may cook with the rest, but I'll definitely go back for more drinking.

Dark red with a touch of amber. Strawberry jam, baking spice, and leather. Medium bodied, cranberries, chocolate cherries, black pepper, grainy tannins, smoke, and a slightly tart medium length finish. Very well made for such a gimmicky (but cool) bottle.

Dark purple. Nice nose of blueberries, bramble, baking spice and leather. Medium bodied, cranberries, bright red cherries, gobs of pepper, soft tannins, smoke, dark chocoalte, and a dry medium+ finish. A good, fun wine. Much better this year than last.

Great with Friday night pizza. Jammy, brambly red fruit. No complaints...

Popped and poured. Didn't show as well as when tasted at the winery. Fruit forward, full bodied with firm tannins on the finish. Probably needed more time in the glass or a proper decanting.

One of my absolute favorite zins. Dark thick red. Strong smooth taste with a nice finish! Pleasure to drink and savor! Still learning in depth about wines more notes to come.

Brought this to a party - no notes except that there was a lot of heat.

Dark purple. Blackberry, leather, a touch of vanilla, and earth on the nose. Medium bodied, more tannins than dark fruit at this point, loads of pepper, smoke, and a dry, shortish finish. Still young, but shows promise.

Decent legs, nice dark raspberry color. Strawberry and leather on the nose with a hint of black pepper. Not a ton of fruit forward, lots of pepper and earthy finish. Not overly complex but can tell it will be great in a year or so.

Maybe not as big as 2007. But still big and fruity. A good little zin in a great fun bottle.

Jammy, great body (but not overpowering) zin. Very smooth too. It tastes like Strawberry, Raspberry, Strawberry Jam, and Black Pepper. The body is Medium. The wine is textured Silky. The wine finishes Short.

Fruity nose of dark sweet berries and cherry cola. Extremely sweet palate, obvious over ripe grapes. Had at a tasting...would not buy

The aroma is full of rich and jammy dark fruit. It has a preserves smell that makes me think of a variety of fruits melted together and made into some sort of a jam. I also pick up on some light floral components, a bit of spice, licorice, peppercorn, and strangely enough, maybe even a touch of slightly burnt popcorn. The palate is delicately sweet with a very nice ripeness to the fruit. The wine’s structure makes itself well known …

Nose: Big oak. Maybe some grape jam. Taste: Too much oak. Fruity, creamy, no complexity, moderate finish. Over-extracted. Tannins soft, in check. UPDATE: tasted on day 2 and was surprisingly better... oak was much more integrated. would say 81 on day 1 and 87 or so on day 2, so i will average the score.

Fruity and drinkable, I adore the bottle which I like more than the wine - fortunately just looking at that makes me happy.
