Flowers, cherries, licorice, and tomatoes in olive oil on the nose. Bright acidity with dark cherries and plums on the palate. Got juicier as it opened up. Granite, mild oak, and juicy dried dark fruit on the finish.

Initially very closed, opens after 30 minutes. Not very complex, but delivers for the price (15 Euro ).

Good but not outstanding. Well balanced and certainly still fresh with the acidity in the mix, but somewhat lacking in the cherry nuances I would have expected from a Chianti Classico at this level. Still it was better than the sirloin steak that accompanied it!

Ho-hum. Not nearly as expressive as the 2008 and 2011 vintages of this wine.

We decanted for an hour before drinking but that may have been a mistake. This tasted a bit tired, was fine with some food, but just pretty boring overall. My guess is this was best a few years ago.

Just a solid, typical Chianti Classico. Nothing special or fancy, from the nose to the finish it’s almost pedestrian. At this price point I don’t know why I was expecting more but clearly I was.

Tasted blind. Aromas of cherry, raspberry, plum and flowers. Flavors of cherry, iron, earth and raspberry. Ends with a 15-20 second finish with earth and cherry notes. Guessed a Chianti and was almost right.

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, berries & plums with overtones of dried herbs & earthy/dusty notes, some spices, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of sour cherries, raspberries & red plums with herbs, earthy, minerals & spices. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but has …

WS 93: Sweet ripe plum and black cherry fruit counter the leather, earth and macchia flavors in this expressive red. Well-built, with dusty tannins and a savory aftertaste. Best from 2021 through 2035. 27,150 cases made, 9,000 cases imported. — BS

Color: medium ruby, some bricking Nose: beef bouillon, sour cherry, tomato concentrate, anise, stewed sour plum Palate: high acidity, medium tannin gripping the teeth. Medium body. Food wine, 100%. Confirms the nose with some oregano as well Finish: medium A food chianti here. Loved it with pizza

Medium ruby with some bricking at the edge. Nose of sundried tomato, tomato leaf, followed by leather, clove, and sandalwood. On the palate is salty minerals, savory herbs, tomato. The fruit note is really hard to find but it’s there underneath with some cherry and sweet balsamic. Medium body and alcohol, very little residual sugar. Rounded acidity, firm tannins. This is wine to pair with a hearty meal. Day 2: The sundried tomato notes mellowed out and sweet balsamic is …

Very good table wine. Thick and drying tannins, chocolate, black cherry, earth, tobacco. Nice, easy to drink chianti. The structure favours food, and the fruit quality, while on the modest side, is clean and delicious.

Medium-high intensity aromatics are modern in style with ripe blackberry, oak spices, dark berry and incense notes. The palate is medium+ bodied with nicely balanced aroma replays supported by medium-firm tannins and acids that are a touch sour. The long finish as savoury, curranty nuances.

Very fruity - red cherries and strawberries - you still get the tannins - medium+ - but they are actually well integrated and the wine comes across as very drinkable - I am positive surprised - great balance.

Popped and poured To the eye- Nice garnet leading to red rose edge. On the nose- Sour cherries, strawberry preserve, earthy, light chocolate, some alcoholic heat. Palate- Mouth mimics aromatics. Delicious red fruit, good acidity balanced with tannins and concentration, oak helps with complexity, medium body, quite good but not great Chianti Riserva.

Quality control issues with this wine. First bottle was flawed and second bottle was very good from the start and only improved with additional air time. I can understand why the ratings are on both ends of the spectrum for this wine.

Although 90% Sangiovese - the Cab portion of this wine adds a lot of density in my opinion, and the Merlot leaves a dusty sort of finish. This is otherwise a very polished and rounded blueberry chocolate Chianti. Drinks modern but authentic. Became more savoury with decanting, and MUCH more appealing!

Pretty nice Chianti Classico Riserva for the price. On the nose, cherry, oak, leather, and a herbal note, the palate is the same but with a nice tart acid that's typical of a Chianti Classico. For the price this is good stuff, meant to be had with food. Has soft/smooth tannins, good mouthfeel but does lack the complexity/finesse of an fine old wine, and the fruity vibrancy of a younger wine. This is probably just past prime but will be …
