Maxime Crotet Bourgogne Blanc "Matilda"

Blind I went to Pinot Blanc or Rhone varieties with this, because the acidity was relatively low. Otherwise a decent wine, good fruit, elegant texture, slight bitter on the finish.

Not clarified or filtered, thus the residual sugar caused a bit of bubbling upon open. Super reductive on nose, flint and a little white sesame. Linear acidity and Chinese preserved plum (for the acidity style and salinity) on palate. Structure and aftertaste are not as strong though. My friend thought the barrel notes of cookies and cork husk are too strong at the begining but I found it OK. Premium style with good value overall.

lean, savory and mineral style, apples, pears, lemon, diacetyl, flowers wrapped around sinew, bright and salty acid this is delicious and very well-made, at first it has a bit of spritz and reads disappointingly like a typical natty white, but with a little air the excess CO2 dissipates and the wine somehow seems to clarify! this is taught, energetic Burgundy with substance and character
