Dalla Valle, Cabernet Franc, Napa Valley

Consumed at home (Sydney), decanted. First Napa cult wine, bought in Yountville, CA a year ago. Appearance: dark plum, crimson rim, bright. Nose: Intense, well perfumed nose. Very savoury, roasted meats and leather dominate, balanced by some black fruits and a hint of tobacco. Reminded me of a St Estephe with a bit of age at first. Palate: full bodied, intense, good finish. Well balanced. Took a while to open up but worth it. Excellent wine.
