Still a citrus bomb, so much lemon and lime. Plenty of kerosene/petrol, but so much zing. Finishes a bit abruptly.

I guess I appreciate a good dose of petrol in an aged Riesling much more than an average Vivino user, hence the rating. Pale straw colour with green shade. Aroma of intense petrol notes, followed by grass, stone, lime peel, hint of peaches. Silky smooth entry with captivating acidity which shines throughout the palate making it bright and crisp but not bone dry or overpowering. Lots of well integrated petrol and other mineral flavours outshining zesty green apple fruitiness.

Very nice Riesling. It became more impressive with food but in a good place now

Developing the fuller body and slightly oily character of a fine, mature Riesling. Drier than a typical German equivalent and less aromatic, but perhaps better with food. Acid now balanced by the richer mouth feel. This is definitely a wine to keep rather than drink young.

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represent s a very good wine. I guess time can heal some wounds. The 83 I gave before was probably generous, although this 82 is not. The wine improved over 12 years. Imagine that. Not anything close to a German Riesling, which the missus and I have quaffing for a few weeks now, but it ws not terrible. Can't imagine buying this again.

Lychee, petrol and vinyl, lime and kumquat zest on the nose. Round palate with zippy acidity and a bit creamy finish. Tangerine, unripe green pear and salty limestone lead into a clean medium long finish. Nice riesling, very much alive and kicking.

Beginning to show real weight and classic Riesling character. Very little residual sugar, though alcohol level is not excessive. Should improve further--will try again in 6 months.

Very refreshing, a little on the delicate side. Notes of peach, soft elderflower, and a stony minerality. Not the most full-on Riesling, but a great summer wine.

It all seemed very correct, lime flowers and good acidity balanced with a little residual sweetness, but for me it didn't come alive, had no soul. Nice, but why bother.

Pear and slate on the nose. Light to medium bodied and quite dry with a strong steely quality and excellent acidity. Pear, apple and grapefruit notes up front, blending into lime and mineral on the back. The acidity provides a strong backbone throughout and into the good length finish. Most similar in style to an Alsatian or Finger Lakes riesling; very aromatic, wonderful acidity and excellent fruit balance. Should last for quite a few years given the strength of the …

Pale greenish yellow color. Aromas of grapefruit, limes and minerals. Ripe, nicely balanced fruit in the mouth with good structure and a long, tangy finish. I am surprised at the wine's lackluster reviews as I really enjoyed this delicious, very fairly priced Aussie Riesling.

{screwcap, 12%} Fresh, intense lime & detergent nose; slightlying developing but promising. Flavours are terrific on the palate too, but the acidity is very low, and this gives the wine a distinctly unbalanced feel, with a flabby finish that lacks crisp freshness (although it is dry). This wine is usually an early drinker, so it's about par for the course.

This has aged nicely. Full, evolved nose of smoky minerals, white fruit, citrus and subtle diesel notes. Palate is light bodied and awash with cutting, juicy acidity. Sour apple, lime and minerals. Mouthwatering mid-palate yields to a pleasant medium-intensity finish. Modestly complex flavor profile but the palate brings terrific energy and tension. Balanced, food friendly. Very good stuff.

Next to 2012 Leitz Eins Zwei Dry. Lots of wax and petrol aromas. Palate isn't nearly as awkward, showing very precise acid, with much more of a razors edge mentality on the palate, not as textural, sparkly, or lush as the Leitz feels on the palate. Apple fruit, red apple skin. Glassier texture. Very refreshing.

Nearly 4 years since I purchased this and it was a good run (for the money) but it ended already. Color - no sign of age, still fairly pale. Aromas - plenty of diesel, faint lychee, slate, buttered pear, red apple. Heck, even some spritzig. But the palate is gone, just not enough living fruit. Somewhat sour and thin, should have used for cooking wine a year ago. 12,0% abv

Screw N Pour. Ideal serving temp seems to be 9C. Still showing nicely after all these years, but in a manner much different than when I purchased it on release (no more frizzante). Apples, petrol, pears crushed rocks, butter and faint lychee on the nose. Screw N Pour. Medium straw color, no real signs of age, though it wasn't very lively, reflective. The nose, like the color suggested the best days have already come for this wine - the palate left no doubt, this is nearing the end of its window. A bit of spritz and still some disjointedness to the acid-fruit tension. I believe the bottle was slightly off and therefor not representative of where it might otherwise be with ideal cellaring (this had …

Screw and pour, let warm to about 15-16C before serving. Although there seems to be a wide range of scores/experiences with this wine, mine continue to be positive. Some freshness remains, but the secondary development this has seen more than makes up for its absence. Savory lychee, spice, quince and pear on the palate and nose. Not yet creamy, but pointed in that direction. I have 3 bottles left that I'll see if I can drink during the next 3-5 …

Perfectly acceptable Riesling, although it doesn't appear to be anything other than fairly four-square wine. Varietal characteristics on the nose, with a slightly honeyed finish. Minerals and crispness provide the balance. Decent enough.

Pale golden color. Unremarkable nose. Light to medium body. Some moderate petrol typicity shows through initially, but the finish is bone dry and full of lime, lemon, and some grapefruit notes. Similar to a German trocken kabinett, sans the steely, slate-like minerality. Decent summertime quaffer at this price. [12% abv.; $16.00].

A solid performer. The nose was fairly muted at first, so I gave it a 1-hr decant - this really helped. A bit of petrol/diesel, slate, wet rocks, bright minerals and stone fruits. On the palate, lemon zest, lime peel. lemon curd and an ideal mid-palate for this medium bodied wine. I've got one more, and I"ll see if I can resist if for a few more years - these are lovely with a little age on them. Approx $19, …

Ahhhh this is beautiful! Pale yellow in color...lite scented lemon floral, melon, white peach, slight petrol nose. Refreshingly crisp and dry in the mouth......sweet sensation(but totally dry) of lemons, white peaches, green apple, melon balls....crisp and tart citrus acidity, mineral stone, the slightest of petrol complexity. LOVE the dryness, without the vodka-like alcohol, yet juiced with complexity. Outstanding wine from Leeuwin!

Pale light yellow colour in the glass. Great nose shows lots of citrus fruits, flowers and some apricot over minerals and smoky petrol notes. I have no idea why this wine received the score it did from the Wine Advocate (89). There was no subtlety, no flavor that was at all like that of a Riesling. Particularly for $14, this was the most disappointing wine I have had in a long time.
