No formal notes, but enjoyable.

great nose of roses and red fruit and other stuff; this has matured with more secondary notes but less tension, and i think i liked the younger version a bit better; now a bit less nebbiolo-like and a little more burgundian, though still its own thing, in a good way.

Good, but shy of vg. PnP, served non-blind. Agglomerated cork, medium(-) body that adds a touch of weight as it aerates/successive glasses. There's a roundness to the tart strawberry. high-ish acidity; .Pinot-like, with an avg finish, and complexity. Perhaps still developing, though this is my last one. Thru 2029 recommended . https://www.ItalianWine.blog

Gorgeous nose. Voluptuous body. Detected more of the volcanic ash this time around.

Really liked this from the start. A thin brownish red color but packing plenty of ripe fruit. Cherry, orange peel, leather, tobacco and slight animal (more on the nose). Not getting much Etna ash but still unique and a steal for the price.

Garnet, orange hues. Green bell pepper, wild strawberry, cranberries, ash and kirsch on the nose. Medium + acidity. Medium tannin. Very expressive and unique etna rosso.

floral and red fruit on the nose; medium body with plenty of evolving flavors; red currant, then sour red cherry, earth, rhubarb, citrus, herbs, black lava; still plenty of structure; really enjoyable

musty and a bit round to start; more typical on day two with sleek red currant, mineral; good acidity

This is a great anytime wine. Although I paired it with some pizza and a kale salad, it is also great on its own. It was a hot night, so it started out at cellar temp and slowly warmed. Great both ways.

Needs more time; very good potential. Medium body with lots of freshness but still a little tart. A tired expression, but a rather Burgundian frame/showing. While some air time in decanter helped it to open a little, for my tastes, this should be cellared for 2 more years; can last another 5+ beyond that, no problem. Lovely, delicate wine full of potential. Crazy good price, too. 13,5% abv. recommended https://www.ItalianWine.blog

The 2016 Guardoilvento Etna Rosso is medium garnet in color with ruby hues and moderately opaque. I decanted this for about an hour which allowed the nose to showcase aromas of ripe red cherry, stemmy strawberry, dried raspberry, tomato paste, red rose, leather, dried earth, rocky mineral, and pine. Once in the mouth, this wine displays notes of baked cherry, raspberry, red licorice, red and purple florals, thyme, crushed rock, tobacco, volcanic earth, allspice, and earthy mineral. This is medium-bodied …

Vey good. Pretty, pinot-like ruby color. Candied strawberries and flowers on the nose, with hints of mint and spice. Friendly and bright on the palate. Sweet tomato and red berries.

oddly musty nose and indistinct flavor to start as if it were corked; i tried the saran wrap ploy (which has only once worked for me) and it seemed to help; however the rest of the bottle (no saran wrap) was just fine on day two, similar to my previous note a couple of weeks ago and quite a lovely wine at this point.....not sure what to make of it

A business dinner (Restaurant Bussia, Amsterdam, NL) : Very similar to my previous note, perhaps even still more elegant and flowing. Tempted to add a point.

Light, translucent ruby hue. Raspberry, floral pastille, loam, under-ripe strawberry, and hint of some hard to place spice on the nose. Pomegranate, raspberry, hint of bell pepper, white pepper, and a floral component on the palate. Medium acidity, somewhat tart, with little tannin and medium body. Very pleasing for a weeknight red.

A private lunch (Restaurant Gijsbrecht, Amsterdam, NL) : Nerello Masacalese, 8 months in French oak. Pale colour; smoky and spicy nose, floral lift, red cherries, almond bitters; juicy and supple palate, rounded tannins provide grip, medium body, light but intense, with a lovely freshness and minerality, playful, hint of smoked cream; good resonance and length. There is some real Burgundian elegance here.
