Retail $25. Big Ass Bottle. 100% Gamay. This is my last bottle of the four that I bought back almost a decade ago from the abysmal PLCB. The first bottle was close to a disaster with the intense Brett. The last three bottles, though, were stellar and almost made me long for the days that I could peruse the aisles of the PLCB looking for a gem like this. Not really. At. All. I even just threw up a little …

Retail $25. Big Ass Bottle. 100% Gamay. I bought four bottles of this wine from the PLCB way back in 2013 for fifteen bucks per. At the time I was willing to take a bit of a flier on this wine as it was from one of the ten Cru Villages in Beaujolais and, well, I was bored. The first bottle was pretty close to undrinkable as it was loaded with Bret (a bacteria that causes the wine to stink …

Superbe tenue dans le temps. Il ne nous semble avoir beaucoup évolué depuis la dernière en 2019. A revoir en 2023-2024… 91+?

Retail $25. Big Ass Bottle. In many ways, this is a curious wine. I bought four bottles of this wine from Wines Til Sold Out way back in 2013 and I have tried exactly one, within days of receiving the wine. And it was chockful of Bret. Tons and tons of Bret. So I put the other three bottles in my cellar and forgot (ignored?) it. Until today. I figured I'd give it another shot. No Brett. And close to …

Overwhelming banana, some nice earthy and strawberry notes. Good mouthfeel. Uninspiring aftertaste. Drinkable, but not a Beaujolais I enjoy.

Très bon, bien fruité, se laisse boire, mais manque de fraîcheur... un peu plat par son acidité modérée que nous aurions préféré plus rafraîchissante. Tout de même fort bon, mais nous laisse un peu sur notre soif.

Deep ruby; strawberries, earth, bananas; ripe cherry/strawberry, light body, good acidity, slightly astringent tannins, nice finish. Fresh and fruity gamay. Would be good with ham or as a summer sipper.

One word: Bret. I am not adverse to bret, but boy is there a bunch here. There is a bit of fruit, but it is rather hard to find. After some time in the glass, the bret burned off a tad (but only a tad). In the end, I guess I liked it (like I said, bret does not bother me all that much). Good? thedrunkencyclist.com

12,5% d'alcool, 100% Gamay Oeil : pourpre-rosé moyen, opacité 4/10, forte viscosité en parois, larmes rapides Nez : projection d'intensité 4/10, frais, fruit devant, fraises des champs, bleuets, orange sanguine, touche fumée, sucre à la crème, floral, roses, très invitant Bouche : sec, ample, acidité rafraîchissante, tanins souples à charnus, astringence moyenne, amertume légère, prise minérale légère, persistance moyenne+, rétro fruitée, minérale, florale, fruitée Conclusion : Wow. Wow. Nous a séduit au premier contact et jusqu'à la fin, un vin …

Excellent red fruit on nose that carries through nicely on the palate. Extremely soft tannins so you can just pop and pour. This would be a nice red wine to enjoy in spring and summer slightly chilled.
