Very dark purple in color. Also deep and rich in texture. Blackberry with some notes of earthiness and vanilla. Tannins provide great support without intrusion.

Very good with Turkey (leftover) Tikka Massala. Fantastic dish that was spicy but thsi wine worked well with it. Still good fruit and body. Good finish. On its own after dinner it was also very good. Spicy food not the very best choice but it worked.

Nicely structured tannins with dark rasberry and tobacco notes. Certainly can benefit from decanting, or plan to open the bottle for a few hours. Suggest to cellar for few more years to soften or pair with higher fat foods.

Merlot predominent Bordeaux blend, tabacco nose, palate of dark berries, mint, mild oak, more tannins than I’d expect. I’ll hold the next bottle for 2-3 years to soften up.

Unfortunately so, I found the 2015 Chappellet Merlot to be somewhat unremarkable. I drank it sans food. I was certainly expecting more but there was not one thing that I can say that stood out on the taste spectrum. I have another bottle sitting in cellar and I am hopeful that possibly another year and another time might be different.

Aroma of dark berries. Classic merlot with flavors of plum, dark raspberry, mocha and cedar. Really nice texture in the mouth, full body with soft tannins and a smooth finish. Drinking really well now.

Very good Merlot. Rich and full-bodied with big mouthfeel, and taste of dark fruit. Comes off just a bit strong - more alcohol than spice.
