Final bottle of 6 and possibly the best yet. Color was light gold but flavor profile was much more aged. Still effervescent with candied ginger, lemon, apple, and some savory spices. Well done. Drink or hold depending on your bubbly preference.

Wow! Either this was an exceptional Vintage for Argyle or I’ve managed to hit this at it’s apogee. Really fantastic nose of bruised peaches and apricot, toasted brioche drizzled with dark sourwood honey. Medium bodied and plenty rich on the palate. Loads of sweet flavors that exactly echo the nose but with a blood orange twist thrown in. Really fantastic expression of mature bubbly! 92

Retail $30. 63% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay. This was my last bottle of 2008 that I bought from a former employee at the winery. Once he left, my supply of inexpensive Argyle was severed. Sad, as this is delicious: citrus and baked apple bask in an effervescent golden-yellow playground. On the palate, this dances on the tongue with wonderful brioche and a tartness that endures through the finish and beyond. Yum. Outstanding. 90-92 Points. www.thedrunkencyclist.com

*Drank in Portland* Crisp, clean, and an absolutely lovely nose on this sparkler from Oregon! Lovely light straw color and could go with many dishes.

Ah, Argyle Brut, how I have missed thee. I used to drink you with regularity, but once my source dried up, I have been holding onto these bottles with white knuckles. Still great apple fruit and vibrant acidity, even eight years out. The price of this wine has slowly crept up over the last few years and I am not sure it is still great value (I paid $10 for these), but it certainly is a solid wine. thedrunkencyclist.com

after 2 bottles with no fizz, this one was perfect. Think lighter Pinot noir with nice bubbles. Very sexy.

Opened with friends at Liu Brothers. Pale yellow color with a short mousse and notes of pear, ginger, apple and blanched almonds. Medium bead with stone, apple and under-ripe peach qualities. Softened acidity. Drink now.

Stil a nice rose but the bubbles are almost gone. Could be a bad seal. We'll see. 2 more to go.

A welcome back to 'Murica wine. Yeast and green apple aromas; alcohol noticeable but nice lemon, green apple, candied cherry flavors. This is quality stuff. I have a single bottle left and if possible, I'd like to try this last one around 2020. 2020?! My goodness that sounds so futuristic, I'm hoping to take this bottle to an offline in my flying car.

This had some leakage or overflow under the foil, and the cork did not "pop" so a perfect seal had not been maintained. No carbonation, but the wine was not completely compromised. A still wine that smelled and tasted of fresh green apples. It was drinkable, if one were in the mood for apple juice. No score as this was not a correct bottle.

Outstanding sparkler out of Oregon. Argyle never fails to impress. Wish I had a few more bottles. For the price this is as good as any domestic sparkling wine.

Very light straw color; light citrus on the nose; crisp, tart, lemon and green apple on the palate. Very delicate with a clean effervescent finish. Tasted at 5th & Wine in Scottsdale.

This has always been high on my list of best domestic sparklers—well made, great green apple flavors, good value. The retail on the vintage Brut has been steadily rising, though, and now retails for close to $30. It’s good, but I am not sure it’s THAT good. I used to have a guy who would get me this for around $10-12/bottle. Now that he has left Argyle? Well…. Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

Light color with notes of green apple, stone and minerals but at times quite reticent and not giving up very much. Mineral and apple tones on the palate.

This wine had big notes of ripe pinot noir. I would have liked a little more acidity but considering it was 2008 I should not be surprised. It is good and fair for the price.

Green apple aromas with some background pale red fruit, which makes me think this must have a fair amount of Pinot Noir. Same tart apple flavors, lean and elegant, with a bit of sourdough bread. Very good value.

Light, pale straw in color with a fine and steady mousse. Fragrant and attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, lemons/limes & tangerine peel, nutty, minerals, stony with lovely brioche notes. Medium-light bodied with a good concentration of balanced, ripe fruit flavors of sweet green apples & tart lemons, yeasty, minerals, stony and nutty. Lingering crisp finish. A well priced, very good, dry & crisp, fruit driven sparkler.

Very good. I loved the fact that the main blending component of this wine was Pinot Meunier and the quality was so good. Just a little different than past vintages, I am sure due to all the PINOT MEUNIER in the blend, but just as good and refreshing. Anyone wanting to see what Pinot Meunier adds to the blend might want to try this wine!

Wife preferred this much more than I. She loved the tart, dry structure, whereas I noticed the relative lack of fruit and flavor. For those looking for a dry, light style of sparkling wine this is it. There was enough yeast present to keep it interesting at least. A great buy at the JJB closeout price.

Sparkling wines to me are all over the map, what one person likdes the other does not. For me, this Brut Rose was right on target. Great bubbles and a really great blush color. Nose of strawberries and notes of freash baked bread and minerals. Tight, tart, crisp and complex on the palate with those same notes of the nose coming through. Finish was great and left you wanting more. Much better, in my opinion, than the 88ish average. Enjoy.

Popped and poured with chili (might sound strange, but sparklers seem to go with anything). Aroma has stawberries and a bit of a perfumey smell. Taste is definitely strawberries, with some creaminess to it as well.

This one pushed all the right buttons for me with a sparkling wine. It had great mouthwatering acidity. The pinot noir fruit stood out with a nice strawberry flavor and a lingering aftertaste. Fruit was very lively. Kept me wanting more!

Blind Champagne and sparkling wines at Matt and Ori's (The new Pink Dolphin) : Bright red fruits here, very delicious palate that is initially generous but turns tart on the finish. Some roughness where the acidity and bubbles meet. Overall simple. Served blind, guessed Cava.

Strawberry, spice and floral on the nose. The palate delivers a very bitter taste along with too much chalk. Short to medium finish and poorly made. This is not even close to as good as their regular Brut Vintage Sparkler. Avoid.
