Amazingly fresh and youthful for its age. I would also like to note that not a single review of this wine on CT mentioned any hint of premox on this wine. My bottle was no exception. Excellent, drinking beautifully. Good evolution to a rounded supple wine, but with real length. Cork excellent, no sign of any issues. Consensus at the lunch where this was alongside 4 other burgundies is that this will keep going. This started my table companion reminiscing about white burgundies with 20, 30, 40 years on them. One to think about!

Benefits from breathing about 20 min in the glass. Evolves nicely in the first 90 min, beginning to fade towards the end of the second hour.

La Paulée de Singapour 2023 : Fresh and still very young. Lemon rind, white flowers, touch of peach. Lots of subtlety and nuance. Really good!

Burgundy WIMPS (La Trompette, London W4) : Seemed quite closed on the nose although a hint of lemon emerged. Quite minerally, mid-palate initially showed quite a lot of energy with concentration. The Somm thought it tasted of de Montille rather than necessarily the terroir, maybe. Quite concentrated. Again more on the impressive side rather than pleasurable.

Pale white gold. Nose of flint, fulsome lily, grapefruit, apple core, white pear, crystalline stone. Pristine, effortless layers of crisp tart lemon, lime, steely grapefruit, late-arriving but beautiful creamy pear, white stone. Incisive acidity and tensile spine. Long, echoing finish of tangy white fruit, tightly coiled grip, and quenching flint. Last sips were best. Striking wine with lots of room to evolve.

Man this was good. The nose alone is worth the price of admission; lemon zest, orchard fruit, acacia blossom, mineral notes just soar out. The palate is vibrant, fresh, and yet has killer depth and concentration. Another excellent bottle.

This was excellent; I've not had many de Montille whites, but I will definitely rebuy this if I can find it; a classy nose of lemon peel, red apple, pear, peach blossom, acacia, crushed stone, and a hint of salinity. The palate is fresh and mineral driven though followed by loads of ripe orchard fruits. Very good depth and concentration, especially considering the vintage. Dinner at the Bannockburn Hotel, Cromwell : Pale colour. Sea salt, yellow spices, lemon and chalk on the nose. A little reduction on opening. Pure and intense on the palate. Citric, marine and steel elements. Still quite primary, with some sparkling acids yet to integrate. Very 2011. 'Ethereal and crystalline, archetypical Puligny', said Andrew. Enjoyable now, but this bottle really needed 3+ more years.

Lay & Wheeler dinner with Etienne de Montille at 67 Pall Mall. In a vertical with '12 and '14. Intense nose of wet stone and acacia. Starts quite steely on the palate with Puligny raciness, then concentrated citrus fruits. Lovely balance between fruit and minerality, finishing with richness and length, giving great elegance. Will come into its own and develop further complexity and put on points over the next five years. A top Puligny.

A fine 2011 white burgundy. Drinks well. White fruits, good balance. Perhaps lacking af bit of volume to be great but delicious now.

Nice effort and really drinkable. Good minerality and at the same time nice display of fruit both lighter ones and a bit more exotic fruits. Good balance and good length makes this good to drink now but also with potential for ageing.

Light yellow. Herbaceous - hay and apple and sous maturite. On the palate this is tight, coplex mixture of apples and that hay overtone. Long and lovely.

HDH auction tasting at Tru; 9/18/2015-9/19/2015 : A mild whiff of sulphur, lemon, flint, and perhaps a hint of riper yellow fruit? Some overt oak notes as well, and it shows on the palate too. There's some light sweet fruit flavours on the palate. It's pretty tightly wound and needs time, but I fear that with time, this doesn't quite have enough acidity to keep it from going soft.

Burgundy Producer Dinner (Bistro de l'Hotel - Beaune) : Floral start with lots of fat apple and lemon hints to follow. Rounded and approachable with a firm, almost bitter hint at the very end, but good depth and energy.

This is a solid wine, firm and dense in a nice way and clearly needing some aging as it has lots of dry extract. 92-94
