This was quite good. I got the sense it could have used more bottle age. The nose was delightful, with alot of rose petal and some darker fruit. The palate was elegant, and the wine had some finesse. I likely should not have consumed it so soon after drinking a 2009 Luigi Baudana Cerretta, which was sensational. It was good, but I will not be seeking any more.

This young magnificent Barolo is just starting to open up. Plenty of rose and orange blossom on the nose and asphalt/tar notes. Some savory/fungal character; still quite tannic. Buy a case now and drink over the next 10-15 years.

Not a favorite of the fam. Had at dinner with lasagna, strange after-taste and lacking a bit of fruit.

Damilano Single Vineyards (Ai Fiori (Langham Hotel on 5th Ave)) : From a vineyard with 40-60 year old vines. It is 30% sandy soil and the rest mostly clay and limestone. Interesting to try this next to the Cerequio since the wines were so very different. The first word that came to mind was animal skin. More savory in nature. Maybe some cacao beans. Herbal. When I first tried it I thought I could just detect a hint of red …

A rather simple barolo, but pleasant. Displays the characteristic tannic impression and cloves-and-licorice palate of Piedmont nebbiolo. Delicate aroma of dried cherry and cinnamon. Probably not getting better, but not about to fade out. Drinking well now.
