First night a 89-90 .. just needed some air. On day 2 certainly improved more and bumped up to a 91. Classic CDR with good body and structure.

Give this air or give it time. I was thinking that being a multi-vintage blend this would be a ready-to-drink style, but that was completely incorrect. Upon opening last night, not decanted, this had a blast of barnyard bret, but that seemed to blow off. Those more sensitive might still find it, but I'm not one to mind a bit. But other than that it just seemed there wasn't a lot going on. Had a glass then put the rest …

I like this Cote de Rhône. Will re-purchase. Good value.

Smells like barnyard and barrel. And then a little tight on the palate, kinda stern on the palate, maybe it will be harmonize but maybe not.

Seven course wine pairing - Canlis Seattle (Seattle, WA) : Grenache blend. Color is medium ruby red. Very good pairing with one of the best duck dishes I've ever had. Wine smells a little like an old world Bordeaux blend. Red fruit on nose. Balanced. Med tannin. Delicate wine. WOTN at Canlis (Seattle) that night. However, it was served cooler than I like and it was so tasty I didn't allow it to warm up! Probably higher score at different …

Nose of cedar, exotic wood, leather... Very soft tannins, delicious, cèpes de Bordeaux.

Schöne Frucht, frisch, Spannung am Gaumen, sehr gut gemachter Wein.
Taster #1378 · Apr 20, 2021
This surprised me - to my palate, it was 80+% of the Reservee at half the price. Pegau funkiness, red fruits. Next to the '18 Reservee it showed less depth and richness. Really a nice wine, which I never knew existed until a recent tasting through Sunfish Cellars.

30 Grenache, 30 Syrah, 20 Merlot, 20 mix of Carignan, Mourvedre, Cinsault etc. Earthy, meaty notes on nose and palate, with some marked Syrah pepperiness. Dark fruit and spice. Delicious southern Rhone typicity.

Bottle from domaine, sold for as many euros as fingers on your hands, and at that it comes across impressive with a fresh mouth of brambleberry and other dark fruit on the attack and a long minerally midpalate followed by mouthcoating tannins. Impressive NV

Fruit forward, lots of berries and cherries, not very sweet
Taster #6171 · Jun 19, 2018
With some everygreen on the nose. With some flush fruit on the mid. 3 miles south of Chateauneuf du Pape in Sourge (sp?). This fits in the non Cote du Rhone Section. She loved these vines and didn't wanna mess with the vineyard and then there are grapes that are hithertoo unknown to mankind so she can't be in the appellation anyway so here it comes.

Vintages 2011-2012-2013 Nose a bit closed of black fruit… Tannins a bit harsh, but silky in the finish, nice black fruit.

Very nice nose of farm, barnyard, wet horse... all the finnesse of a mini Pegau with the right balance of oriental spices, ripe tannins, very silky and feminine

This wine contains declassified of the famous Pegau 2003, and you can taste it!! It has a fabulous nose of soy sauce, oriental spices, bacon fat....The taste is fabulous, gorgeous tannins, nice sappy acidity, ripe cherries, bacon, not as long as the Chateauneuf... but very nice for a 6€ wine bought at the domain about 10 years ago! It was called "le vin des amis", I indeed keep this marvellous wine for my very best friends :-)

Nice and simple. Plenty garigue and little orange peal. Lacking some fruit. Drinks well now and next few years

I wonder where this is from? Plush, super soft tannin, a little game. Really just what you'd expect from good quality CDR.

Robust and in same style as other Pegau. Quite good value for money, although lacking a bit of structure found in other similarly priced offerings.

This bottle was a bit boring, somewhat tired fruit? Last bottle was very good, so perhaps my palate was tired instead of the bottle...

not impressing when tasted short time after uncorking, but after few long hours it becomes Ok as Cote du Rhone, bit dry, some secondary aromas, med fruitiness, nice finish. Good as vin de table.

Didn't take notes - for price great QPR and went well with ribs. 90 for this tasting. Was better than prior bottle.

Nice garrigue and violet aromas. Medium weight on the palette, with a mostly smooth but lightly choppy texture. Very floral, with berries, herbs, and a bit of cedar flavor. Reminded me of a top of the line Cotes du Rhone.

Bill's Summer Garden Offline (Vancouver, BC) : No formal notes. Simple and well balanced with good fruit and a perfect wine to sip on while dominating the field in bocce. Good.

I am a huge fan of Pegau CDP and tend to think Rhone table wines provide some of the best value in the world. But this is not Pegau CDP nor do I think this represents very good value for the price. Pretty thin on the palate without much complexity. Shortish on the finish. The one interesting element that emerged from this bottle after about an hour is a fair amount of animal hair/funk. While I tend to enjoy a …

Beau fruit, bel équilibre. On retrouve la grenache mais dans une version plus retenue. Un cdp accessible. Un très bel accord avec les côtelettes de porc aux épices et à l'érable.

Decanted for 30 minutes & then had with grilled chciken. Very tasty. Did not take notes but I enjoyed the wine more than the last time. No degredation in this wine & nice garrigue notes to the nose & palate. 89+ and would buy again. [edit] Still going strong on night 2. Absent the screw cap, this wine would be interesting to follow over 5 years or so.

This has mellowed a bit, and is quite open straight from bottle. Good balance and juicy fruit withour much sense of place. Not modern, you can sense that this is a smaller wine from a talented winemaker. Good QPR.
Taster #4459 · Mar 28, 2012
Quick TN: Unscrewed and poured. Darker fruit and tighter/more closed than the previous bottle. This wine had a metallic/medicinal quality that the first bottle didn't have, as well as a shortish finish. Unchanged over two hours. Okay but nothing earth shattering.

Not very impressed with this wine. I have to admit that I may have held it to a higher standard given what Plan Pegau is capable of producing. The nose consist of bright red fruit that is dominated by crushed rasberry. The color is light ruby red on a light to medium body. I can barely taste some of the it's big brother's flavor profiles but they are muted/dull. There is some sediment in the wine and it feels slightly …
