Turtle Rock Claude's Cuvee

Deep violet, needed a long decant given I popped a bit young. Aroma: Blackberry, flint, white pepper Palate: tangy/sour, black fruits with kiwi, slight vanilla Not my favorite style; big & bold Cali juice

Intense purple color when opened. Double decanted and sat for 2 hours. Blueberry nose and taste. Followed by raspberry, cherry, oak, anise. Splashy acidity. Long finish that goes into red licorice, and a tad of astringency. Terrific now, and should hold for awhile.

Poured at the tasting room. Deep dark magenta color. Blueberry, wild strawberry, blackberry, sage, and cream cheese danish. Smooth, dry palate, with delayed fine acidity. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish. Most of the TR wines have stem inclusion that imparts a signature tanginess that I don’t love. Dark fruits on the nose that just burst forward. Blueberry/blackberry jam on the palate. The nose was all there upon opening it took about 30-40 minutes to open up and explode on the mid- palate. Definitely worth buying. Going to find more bottles. Absolutely delicious!

Double decant. Blueberry. Brambly field blend. Borderline syrupy. Mellowed out and really improved as the night went on. Meaty. Baking spice. Excellent tannin management. Juicy acidity. Gorgeous texture.
