This is probably the best showing of the 2011 Folatieres from BM for me so far. It’s loosened up a bit, still has the strong citrus of the vintage for sure but wears it lightly and allows the honeysuckle to come through. Which is the aspect of their Folatieres that I like the best. A bit chalky textured too.

Gave the Folatieres more air this time. Still a leaner version overall but hits all the BM hallmarks - finger lime, white flower, chalky salinity.

The 2018 Folatieres from Bachelet Monnot was one of my best wines last year. The 2011 is unfortunately not in same league (or at least this bottle), even though it’s still very good. Still has a lot of reduction despite the 14 years. Limey but not in the same margarita style way as Lamy. Some white flower. Driving energy and a bit pithy and salty but less aromatically intense and huge than the 18. Fair value at $150, hope the …

Very correct (I guessed the appellation and vineyard blind), but little more than that. Mind you, that should be more than enough and this level and price. Recommended at this level.

Consistent with previous note. My last bottle. Nutty with sharp acidity. Best in 3-8 years.

MWS Wine Tasting and Dinner (Restaurant Jaimie van Heije, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, NL) : Still quite closed on the nose, slightly reduced, lemon, mineral, floral top notes; elegant and tight style, crisp and youthful, relatively dry, mineral intensity; good length.

Consistent with previous note. The palate had more richness and power versus the previous bottles. It was indeed better than the referts.

A very solid white burgundy. Tropical fruit, peaches, rice cracker, sulphur and bits of honey on the nose. On the palate, it had sharp acidity with a lovely nutty after taste. It has a lot of potential. Give this 5-10 more years.

Wijnkoperij Okhuysen Annual Tasting (Haarlem, NL) : Comparable style to Les Referts but more floral expression, layered and fine.

Real tension and minerality, though it's accessible in the middle, honeyed, almonds, aided by a touch of oak (25-30% new oak). Really nicely done. Classically styled and fresh.

Bibendum Portfolio Tasting : Restrained nose - mineral with some floral notes. The palate is more open with good fruit weight that is well proportioned alongside the oak. Good, balanced power that will do well with time.

Bibendum Portfolio Tasting : Vanilla, citrus and spice with some oak evident. Well structured palate, it needs time to unwind.
