Dinner with Todd and Doug at Silhouette in NYC. First experieince with this wine Decanted for about an hour before drinking. Would do a longer decant if I drank it again. This is a big, brooding wine. Nose on this was a little funky. Almost like a shoe polish - which masked the fruit. Behind the funk we were getting plums, dark fruits, cigar, leather. Dark cherry color. Nice nose of red berries, licorice, cigar box, minerality, menthol. Very well balanced palate, mid bodied, high acidity, nice fruit, very mineral, medium-long finish.

Opened and decanted for 45 minutes, then air in the glass. The Osmin had a very nice nose, largely cherry/raspberry, spice & mineral notes. I would not describe the nose as room-filling but it certainly cleared the glass by a foot. Very rich and smooth on the palate & followed the nose - lots of cherry, red berry, spice and some earthy notes, very balanced & a super long finish. Could have been mistaken for an Aussie wine. Big. Bold. Fruity. Deliicious. But unlike any wine from Spain I have ever had before.
