Cola, strawberry, chalk, rhubarb. Drunk with a 16 Rivers Marie Lore at S.N.O.B. in Charleston - both sublime, the Bevan was the clear favorite.

In a perfect spot right now. Black and red cherry, wild raspberry, Creamsicle filling, bark and stems, underbrush, garrigue, rhubarb, limestone river rock, and some clove notes. The overall delivery is focused and firm, but also inviting and complex. One of my favorite Bevan Pinots, as it doesn't feel the need to kick the ever-livin' crap out of your palate with fruit, fruit, and more fruit. A classy rendition, with just enough swankiness to hold interest throughout consumption. This carries …

It's been over a year and a half since I've had this wine. PnP was a little imbalanced at first, with extracted raspberry, cream, alcohol, and brush. After about an hour of air, it fanned out nicely. The fruit mellowed out and some spice intermingled nicely with the brush notes. Depth and complexity were good but not earth-shattering. A little woody at times, with a cooler climate display especially becoming more prominent with time/air. It was overall an enjoyable drink, …

Excellent Pinot. The cooler climes and elevations are pronounced. No cherry cola here. This is loads of minerality, Garrique and darker plum flavors with overarching botanical Hues.

Not one of Bevan's stellar offerings, but interesting and certainly quaffable nonetheless. PNP and let slow ox for 1 hr at 58 degrees. Nice CA Pinot nose of soil, orange peel, rhubarb, and assorted red fruit. Medium on the palate with nuance of lemon, pomegranate, and red fruit. Medium finish. Very refreshing drink with speckled trout in brown butter / pecan sauce and grilled Brussels sprouts. Probably wouldn't repurchase at this price point and will stick with the excellent house …

Decanted an hour then consumed over another hour and half. It got off to a very good start with an array of rich dark fruit and spice, but the oak became overwhelming as we were finishing the bottle. Try as a PnP and drink on the earlier side. This is the first Bevan pinot that kind of missed the mark for me. Disappointing.

Similar to my CT notes on 8/1/15. Dark red and black fruit, forest floor, and a medley of spices on the palate, with specific hits of black cherry, stewed rhubarb, cardamom, allspice, clove, and cedar. A tad reserved on initial entry, with some swirling in the glass coaxing even more of the spice and earth elements out. Finished with black raspberry and faint cardamom and caraway notes. Drinking very well right now as a PnP. Enjoy now and over the …

No formal notes, but this was one of the best wine-food pairings I have had in a long time. The opulence, ripe red fruits and spices (cinnamon, clove) in this wine went perfectly with the glazed ham tonight. All of us agreed it was a perfect match. Sad this is my last bottle. My note is lame, I know, but just read CSIM's note below and that guy/gal nailed it. Ditto!

Red fruit and spice on the nose. On the palate, rhubarb, sassafras, red berry, dark red cherry, a little earth, and spice. A very accessible and fruit-forward Pinot, with a rich, voluptuous profile. Some spice, cardamom, and allspice flavors as well. A solid Russell Bevan Pinot, just a tad less rich than the Petaluma Gap. Ready to drink now, but will become even more interesting with a year or so of cellaring. WOTN when compared to a '10 KB Sonoma …

Modern...well made in the vein of Kosta Browne, AP Vin, rivers Marie. Nose of flowers, strawberries, kiwi. Integrated fruit. Not subtle at all...excellent balance and layers of flowers, strawberries, kiwi, spice, cola....long finish. Great.

Great pinot. Immediate cherry flavors with long finish of spice. Little heavier than regular pinot.

S & E Wine Club - Blind Pinot Noir Tasting (Wine Cave) : First Pinot Noir tasting, full of plum and vanilla as soon as you open it up. You can definitely tell it was made by a cab guy.

S&E Wine Club - Blind Pinot Wine Tasting : Decanted for 4 hours and this made a difference when compared to the next wine the Petaluma. Clearly young and fruity and in the fruit forward extracted Napa style. Extremely rich and almost jammy. A light metallic finish and smooth full bodied. I imagine this is not a wine that Pinot purists would like but for those that enjoy Napa cabs and blends this is your style of Pinot.

Needs 1-2 hours to decant to blow off some heavy phenolics but leaves a truly gorgeous flavor fully complex pinot

Damn tasty, big and rich with relatively low acid but enough to Cary the weight. I drank the last glass from the bottle it is so good.

We bought a couple bottles of this wine and after 5 months decided to open one bottle to give it a try. Stored at roughly 57-58 degrees and when we opened it, it decanted for 60 minutes. In short, a delicious wine with hints of spice and some in our group were adamant about cigar on the nose. Taste is very cherry cola and dr. pepper. Well rounded and a nice lasting finish. Worth a try if one crosses your …

Personal tour with Russell! 9.3+ N: High creamy oak, almost too much, but it blows off and leaves loads of red-spectrum fruit. M: Heavy weight, bright red fruit liqueur F: Nicest of the three, very elegant, supple.
