Deep garnet in color that does not think at edges. Dense black fruit with deep complexity of flavors, earthy, leather, cedar. Well balanced overall with smooth tannin that suggest it is at its peak.

Finally starting to show some complexity although still very dense. My last bottle after 6 and I'm thinking I should be on my 2nd bottle as this appears to just now be starting to open up.

Very balanced zin. Restrained black fruits that integrate beautifully with the earthy characteristics. You do notice the oak, but it isn't too big. Spicy on the long finish. Plenty of life left in this one.

This wine is really intriguing. My first three bottles, I missed the fruit forward elements and thought it was defective, or at least less than satisfactory. This time around after reading other CT comments about what a real zin is meant to be, I changed my mindset to focusing on the balance, focus and earthiness. And I liked it better, so I'm a believer! Sorry for my schizophrenic scoring but what are you going to do!

Anyone looking for a big, jammy fruity zin should look elsewhere.This wine is earth and minerals, as really great zin should be.

With an hour of decant time and served chilled it was enjoyable. But it still lacks the fruit and ripeness I like in a Zin.

I am really let down by other CT scores. I should have listened to James Laube, he gave this an 83. Hot, flabby and no fruit. That's the tri feta of bad juice.

Was expecting more based on CT ratings. I noticed that WS gave it an 83 points. Do they know something? Dominated by prunes.

Great zin. Had with home made carnitas. Excellent pairing. Introduced to this wine by Don Gillette of NVWE and bought some more. Great nose. Great fruit. Love these wines that aren't internationally rated but are excellent.

Reasonable value, full bodied and drinkable now. Tannin had a soft bite and finish is a bit curious, no one was complaining.

This wine has developed beautifully. Balanced, rich - spice, pepper, and mellowed fruit (my husband described as "fruit backward"). Light tannins; smooth finish. Paired with Neapolitan wood fired pizzas and charcuterie. Wish we had more.
