This is now a very attractive village Gevrey, soft, nicely mature, not heavy but well rounded. Probably at its peak now.

This is now mature, with good depth of flavour: plums, damsons and a hint of mocha. A good village wine.

À l'ouverture, l'attaque est étonnante de jeunesse: Les épices et l'élevage très caractéristique (bois) de Gevrey surprennent, surtout après 9 ans! Mais tout cela s'envole rapidement. Le fruit explose littéralement, ensuite, dans une forme et une intensité splendides. Adieu les tannins, tout est rond et enveloppant. Encore un très beau Gevrey de Rossignol Trapet et qui boxe au-dessus de sa catégorie. (***1/2)

An attractive, nicely mature village Gevrey, the fruit now taking on more savoury notes; medium weight, well rounded, and finishing well. No doubt there are better village Gevreys than this, but this is more than satisfactory.

Quite a light colour; the palate is fresh, with lightish cherry/raspberry fruit, not at all heavy but with good structure. Now ready, but may improve over the next year or two.

Earthy red fruits, with some faint wafts of oak. The tannins are smooth and integrated and the earthy red fruits of strawberries and raspberries give way to a little bit of plum. There is mouth filling acidity but all perfectly balanced a joy to drink now but will certainly drink well for five more years yet. This is available at a few places @laywheeler have bottles and a case available. 89 points bordering on 90.

Classic Gevrey. Rough hewn red fruit, with plenty of oomph, a touch of spice, silky tannins, sweet red fruit and a great finish. In it's drinking window and has many more years to come. 89 points

Nicoletta's 40th Birthday weekend!; 1/18/2018-1/21/2018 (Megeve, France) : Maybe we missed this wine by a year or so and if felt that the juicy side of it has mellowed leaving a bit of a dry feeling, light oak dynamic. Still decent level of red fruits for a village, dark/smoky/oaky feel too and a very good 87-88 . Drink sooner than later.

Nose dominated by oak. Expected a wood monster, however, the lumber is strangely held in balance by the bracing acidity, rather than the fruit.Hot,but tasty finish. Time in bottle will pay off. Hold if you have this a few bottles in your cellar, but if you have a case, it's enjoyable now.

Un Gevrey-Chambertin à la robe intense, sombre, assez dense, d'un rubis brillant et démontrant une remarquable concentration de matière. Premier nez ouvert sur des notes de petites baies rouges, d'épices, d'herbes sauvages et de terre humide. Avec un peu d'air, le nez se précise sur des arômes de cerises rouges surettes compotées, sans le côté sucré que l'on retrouve dans la confiture de petits fruits, de cannelle, et de poivre blanc. A private lunch (Restaurant Weinhaus Neuner, Munich, Germany) : Juicy and fresh, ripe 2012-fruit, firm mineral core, floral and fragrant nose with some sous-bois and sauvage, gentle tannins have good phenolic ripeness, cherry flavours, good length. Not very complex but completely true to type. And a lovely drink.

Dinner at Bistrot du Sommelier, with Casey and Yish; intense but never overpowering cherry jam chocolate dusted pepper and spice, youthful and lively without being overpowering, tight or "hot" despite its relative youth; over a long dinner of steak and pâtés this remained just a little tight and closed hinting at more development to come. Decent finish though tannins were not as pronounced as in 05, 07 or 10. A lovely drink over meals.

Nose is starting to develop into a typical pinot of red fruit and forest floor.. palate is not a very powerful gevrey, but has a lot of red strawberry and cherry, nice balance not a show stopper but a nice drop. 89 points

Aucune note formelle. Superbe Gevrey-Chambertin, pas le plus complexe, mais un très beau fruit concentré. Une légère astringence en fin de bouche m'incite à patienter deux ans avant d'ouvrir une autre bouteille.
