Marie Duffau Bas Armagnac

Aroma of old wood; a bit lighter than some other armagnacs of similar age. This brandy shines more on the palate, with some grapiness initially, then vanilla, cardamom, mint, and a hint of cinnamon. A bit spicy and tingly on the tongue, which dissipates slowly through the finish. Very nice.

Cask strength 45.5%; 'aged 30 years in oak barrel', Heavenly Spirits LLC, Lakeville, MI. Polished deep bronze. Powerful hard spices, anise and vanilla, creamy with a touch of nasal heat at first. At first PX-like with a pile of wintergreen leaves. Served once mixed with good tonic water (Fevertree), resulting in more emphasis on wintergreen, almost to the point of a similar experience to chewing wintergreen gum.
