Half tart red fruit, half red licorice. Really never came into its element. Disappointed for what was spent on this wine.

CabFranc from TX...12.5 ABV. Great dark ruby color in the glass. The nose is spicy (bell pepper and peppercorn) but the fruit keeps it balanced (black cherry, rhubarb) with additional smoked cedar notes. The punch with this comes in the mid palate as the front is quite light and the finish isn’t overly lengthy. Paired perfectly with thin-sliced parmesan pork chop. Tx reds can be tricky, and there are only a few who really know what they're doing to get the fruit but also just a bit of the terroir. The nose of this wine is a little bit of funk, a little bit of tart, healthy amount of black cherry, and a whole buncha perfumed flowers.
