Drew Noon suggests this is to be drunk next few years. From a more approachable vintage. For me it shows that Langhorne Creek earthiness, slightly stewed fruits, prune, some tar - not your fruit bomb Shiraz. Medium bodied but with length. Went great with the sirloin I served with it.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep ruby colour, with brown rim and legs. Nose: Clean, with pronounced intensity aromas, showing black fruit of blackberry and blackcurrant, dried fruit of prune, pungent spice of black pepper, animal notes of meaty, oak notes of toast, kernel notes of molasses and cocoa, maturity notes of savoury. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, high in alcohol, with …

This wine was a great example of needing to manage serving temperature. Coming out of a Vintec at 12-14C into a Queensland room temp glass, this was probably pretty close to the textbook red wine temp around 15-18C when I took my first sip, but all I got was a bit of vanilla and spice and excessive alcohol heat. Into decanter and in the fridge to both aerate and cool for a while. I didn't use a thermometer so I'm …

Drank with close friends @ Korean BBQ. One of our friends is a sommelier and he picked this wine from cellar as Noon can be quite hard to get a hold of. It's actually the first Noon any of us have had. I see what everyone has been talking about and I'm already a huge fan. This particular bottle still had plenty of time left, it smelt and tasted so fresh. The Somm said another 10 years he thought it …

A bit one dimensional. Ripe dark fruits but the dominant character for me is the hot 16% alcohol and it doesn't have the smoothness or residual sweetness like a port to make that ABV enjoyable.

Not sure about this. Nose is a little green with cherry and berry fruit. Palate is soft, with initally sweet fruit, but turns hard and metallic with a very dry and still green pepper finish.

Spectacular 2003 Noon Australian Shiraz:dark purple color , nearly black ,nose of dark sweet plum , dates, sweet cherries 🍒; ripe dark fruits , thick rich mouthfeel , texture like port . So silky and smooth. It is so pleasurable to drink it at its peak

Dark purple showing no sign of decay. Piercing purple fruits with a bit of blackberry on the nose. Meat juices with a strong mineral saline streak, mint, eucalyptus, and a finish that features all of the above, especially the salinity. The fruit is very much alive; the wine probably needs another 6-10 years of cellaring and will last another couple of decades. Absolutely delicious.

Still drinking beautifully and perfectly balanced. Not at all over the top as others have suggested, just a great exame of how Aussie shiraz can age well if stored properly. Won't get any better but another 2-3 years left before the wine declines

Dark red, not so dense (a bit of surprise), light brown edge. Large bq w blackberries, herbs, cough syrup, with underlying notes of charcuterie and light oak. Rounded tannins, good acidity, still plenty of fruit (dark berries) and sweet liqourice. Very nice balance. 14,9 % alcohol not noticeable. Long aftertaste. While it probably won't get any better, it shows few signs of aging. Very good!

The wine is deep purple and opaque. There is no rim variation and the staining is heavy. The nose is powerful and developing. The fruit is black and blue with rich raspberries, blackberries, dark cherries, white pepper and cherry pie filling and crust. The wine is dry. The dark fruit continues to show prominently. The fruit character is tart to baked. The tannins are high, with medium acidity, alcohol is high, the body is huge, and the texture is round. …

45 min decant. Bright nose of raspberry, menthol and eucalyptus. Flavours of cassis, cherry, liquorice, mint, clove and chocolate. Tannins remain firm seven years on. Paired beautifully with Aussie lamb leg and roast veg. No rush to open, has 7-10 years ahead of it.

Very fragrant and exotic bouquet, there are toasted almond and clove black chocolate, ripe raspberries and black plums, grilled meat with black pepper and lifting eucalyptus. The signature spiced chocolate and deep black fruits palate followed nicely from entry to finish with pine and leather undertones. Good acidity to keep the wine tight and fit in the porous structure. Full bodied and complex mid-palate with some hints of alcohol towards the end. The finish is extremely long and deep for …

One of the best most unctuous shiraz ive ever had. Extremely complex and hedonistic. The nose was misleading, and much more subtle than expected. Subtle Cassis, leather, tobacco, smoke, vanilla, dark sweet plums The palate is where things take off...When it hits the tongue, its thick, unctuous, spicy, amazing to wash around the mouth, so layered, thick, extremely hedonisitc juicy in perfect balance and harmony- long , ridiculously enjoyable ending, so big but also somehow holds onto its dignity.

Typical McLaren Vale Shiraz. A bit too powerful for my taste. There is not enough tannin to balance the intense (yes jammy) fruit. I know some people love this style - just not me. My last bottle, and to be honest I won't miss it.

Decanted and drank over 4 hours. This has really changed over the years. It's an old world style wine. Fruit has all but faded, yet it still an intriguing palate. Dusty and dry, with camphor and tobacco, smokey and a little vegetal, touch of oak. Tannins are all but gone, but some good acidity remains. I wouldn't say it's on it's last legs yet, but I definitely don't see any upside in the future.

Poured a Coravin sample and left in the glass for 2 h. This was tasted semi blind, i.e. I knew the 6 wines but not the order of them. Some bottle age with maturity autumn leaves. On the mouldy side of things with an inky and minty taste, almost flawed. The tannin is melted away but acidity there to lift. Still a bit hollow and not quite in harmony. Over the top or a bad bottle.

This was one of the worst wines I've ever tried. I don't know if it was a bad bottle or what. Aussie wines are not my thing generally. For me they're too extracted, too rich, too alcoholic, the proverbial fruit bomb. But this was more landmine than bomb. No fruit, just bitter, acrid road tar, ashtray remnants, spent coffee grounds and scorched earth. There was nothing to recommend this wine on any level. A friend and I each poured one …

Based on a Noon Shiraz I enjoyed several years ago I recall this as a massive mouth coating wine. At 16% alc one would think this fits the bill but I sense a suppleness too it that challenges my view. Even aftet a 3 hour decant the alcohol is undeniable. Great wine of finesse ..but power...!!!! Popped and poured. Good colour. Slight licorice, caramel, pepper ,spice, old leather (but a bit of heat on the nose, wich follows through to the back pallet.) 15.2 % i think it is a bit higher than what they have stated.....
