Umani Ronchi, d'Alba Fonte Re, Lacrima di Morro

Fruit Day - Explosive nose of red flowers and red fruit - for me mostly pomegranate and cherry. Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and medium tannins. I can understand others references to Turkish Delight for this wine but I’ve always disliked TD and really enjoy this well made, very enjoyable wine.

Fruit Day - Opaque garnet core extending all the way to a thin purple edge. Nose is rich and earthy with purple flowers, graphite, light mint, black plum and a bit of wet steel. On the palate the acidity is medium plus, the tannins are medium and still largely unresolved, the body is medium and the flavours are light plum, spice, cedar and new leather. Such a young wine!!
