WTSO special. I bought it based on price and that its made only from Syrah. I prefer the CNPs made from at least 3 varietals. I think they offer more depth and character. While there are major exceptions to my opinion, ie: Rayas Color. Dark red. Nose. Flint, smoke, pencil lead, creosote, stewed cherries, currants. Palate. Glycerin, tart cherries, oak, and a smooth entry make this a yummy wine. The tannins are nearly noon existent. There is a slight catch …

Meaty, juicy, smoky and spicy, you find ripe, earthy cherries, herbs and pepper on the nose and palate. The wine is fresh, rich and long, with a tannic backbone that demands some time in the cellar. Made from 100% Syrah, this is an interesting wine to taste, as there are only a handful of Chateauneuf du Pape wines made using Syrah exclusively.
