This is only my second-ever Carmenere, and it wasn't as good as the one I had in Walla Walla, but it was good and a good value.

Impulse purchase @ Trader Joe's - 13.5% abv, $5. Served with Stuffed Bell Peppers. Dark red on the pour; red fruit on the nose. Medium-bodied, but tastes lighter bodied, not as robust as I'd expect for a Carménère and a little bland. A little fuzziness on the tooth, somewhat spicy. Medium finish. Overall a pleasant table wine, suitable for everyday casual use.

Unlike any other Carmenere we've had - instead of smooth like expected, it was bold and in your face like a big Zin. Also had a lot of pepper in the finish, like a Petite Sirah.
