Nice taste, and none of the alcoholic beef stock. Improved after air. I will add further thoughts tomorrow

Two hour decant. Not up to the superb bottle I had a few months back. More typical earthy, tannic, oatmeal driven Chateauneuf. Still a decent wine, bloody fruit, good intensity. A touch more rustic and needing more time. No rush.

1/12. Just taken out of store. So glad I gave this 19 years as it is singing. After a two hour decant, fabulous nose, smoky cassis, tobacco , liquorice and a hint of cherry. Soft and enveloping black fruit with lovely liquorice density. Mature, light tannin, still a good 5+ years ahead of it. A point now. Superb.

Decanted 1hr. Wow. An exceptional CNDP. Fresh & lively on the palate with plenty of ripe cherries, gentle tannins and a long persistence. This is drinking wonderfully now. Super. Drink now-2028.

Drinking my way through a case purchased on release. Have had a few so so bottles over the last few years but this one-bottle 10 or 11 is spectacular! Medium ruby in appearance. This is bottle 9 or 10 of a case purchased on release and it seems to lose a bit more color each time I return to it Fully mature nose of cherry liqueur, baking spice, damp earth and some herbal elements (Mediterranean herbs). Enjoyed over two nights in a large burgundy glass. Opened using a Coravin. The wine was drinking very smoothly, pretty much devoid of tannins and without big fruit flavors. Although I do not have a base point as this has sat in my climate controlled cellar since release, I sense that it is beyond its peak. Am I going to rush to drink my second bottle? Probably not.

Simply a beautifully made bottle of wine! Intense dark red colours. Intense nose of La Garrigue, raspberries and darkness. Intense in the mouth, like the rascal it is. Decanted 45 mins. Rich & ripe nose with dollops of blueberries & garrigue. Palate is full & ripe - plenty of fine tannins, masses of fresh acidity, black cherries. A big wine, lots of fruit and long persistence. A long decant would work well. Drink now-2030+.

This got better after opening up an hour in the decanter and is still a very interesting wine to experience, but it is getting past its prime. I love the dark garnet color and pleasing nose, as well as the pronounced dark berry-cherry cola, but even after opening, it was a bit flat.

9th bottle of a case purchased on release. Starting to get a bit tired unfortunately. Still drinking well but has lost some freshness, weight and structure from previous bottles. The CDP typicity is there , but not quite as concentrated and delicious as previous bottles. Drink up!

Initially very pruny - I almost wondered if it was slightly heat damaged or oxidized. But it eventually opened up in the decanter, showing raisins, black olives, dark fruits, earth and mineral. Very smooth on the palate. Not entirely sure that this bottle was representative of what this wine should be, but I have one more bottle in the cellar, so that may provide some clarity.

Gave this only an hour's decant and it continued to open and further express itself as I continued to slurp it down. Classic CNP with finesse and style, lushness without being in any way overripe. Really enjoyed with pork and peach dish that Luke crafted. Rating could go up with more time.

Head-snapper! You know when you expect a bottle to be good, but it stuns you with greatness? This is one for the ages. Everything you want in a CdP, and nothing you don't. Nursed the bottle over three nights, and the third was even more thrilling than the first. Fantastique!

Deep purple color. Dry earth and brush on the nose. Rich and concentrated dark fruit, not overly ripe, good complexity and balance, lingering finish. The first time I have tried this producer's luxury cuvee, and I was impressed. Excellent now, but has a long life ahead of it.

Last of 3. This wine is very clean. No Brett here. Plummy fruit. A bit of heat on the first sip. Garrigue. Some graphite and earth. You can tell this has more Mourvèdre in it. Not as cherry oriented as it would be with more Grenache. 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah. 15% abv.

We decanted the wine for 90 minutes before we poured the first glasses. It was medium to dark ruby in colour and offered red fruit, mixed berries, garrigue, spices, black pepper, a hint of liquorice and a smoky mineral component on the nose and palate, joined by glycerin on the finish, with medium-level acidity, smooth, well-integrated tannin and very good length. Deep garnet color with a youthful rim. Not modern dark but bold nonetheless. Spicy nose that has florals and wood along with red fruits. The palate is silky and bold with good saturation supported by lively acid. Birth year wines (plus some extra's) (@ JB) : In the bouquet loads of black and red forest fruits and beautifully sweet garrigue. On the palate the same. A lot of sweetness, beautifully balanced by good acidity and tannin and a pleasant dose of oak. Drank two of my three bottles now and I really should keep the last one to drink in the mid 2020’s or even later.

Medium-dark purple. Discrete nose of dark fruit (black cherry, blueberry), with sweet spices and a touch of oak, quite reserved. Interesting nose at first with some overripe fruit that blows off to reveal nice notes of ripe figs, purple flowers and some bbq sauce. The palate is intense in its dark fruits and crisp acidity but boasting medium weight and rapidly changing character. I really enjoyed the changes in this wine over minutes and days. Still potent and intresting on day 4. A very good CDP that should gain some harmony over the next few years.

A lot of black fruit juice in the bouquet as well as the mouth. Also a lot of oak which should integrate a bit more. Firm tannin. A wine with a lot of future in it. Next bottle around 2017.

Game and Rhone Tasting @ Peggy's (Villa Reynart, Opoeteren) : Nose chockfull of black fruit. Sultry, salacious, thick and creamy. This is very modern in style, heavy dosage of oak, and so youthful. Nevertheless it's spicy, nice and snappy and pretty tasty. 17+/20

Uncorked DK tastes Châteauneuf 2006 and Henri Bonneau (Premisse) : Very dark. Very sweet ("overseas") nose with loads of cherries and some vibrance. In the mouth there's lots of oak. With air and an increasing temperature it becomes sticky and toffee like in the aftertaste. There is a certain interesting almost maritime element. It was interesting to taste this first vintage although it was not impressive. (G93/U93,1)
