Monimpex, Aszu 5 Puttonos, Tokaj

Cork completely saturated but came out cleanly. Great smell, very dark color. Sweet and concentrated. Wonderful survivor after 50 years.

So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030 : Wow - what a great, syrupy, prune-y wine experience. I've only had Tokaji a handful of times, so didn't know what to expect. But guesses at the table ranged from old, dry sherry, to port, to Tokaji. Several nailed it. This one is fun and in a good spot. Went excellent with the pecan pie.

Poorly stored but frankly still a wonderful iteration of classic Communist Tokaji. Almost as dark as molasses, it was a bit of a gamble as to how it might taste. Needn’t have worried as roasted figs and caramel flooded the nose and the taste was shear heaven with a stunning finish. Star of the lunch amongst some heavy hitters.

Wow! Still going strong. No specific notes, but it sure didn't taste like it was 39 years old. Fruity, complex, long finish, delicious.
